Ravi Shankar, most people would have heard of I'm sure - as he is a prolific musician who worked with the beatles and has influenced a great number of people...
he composed this concerto for sitar and HE is going to play it with the BBC symphony orchestra conducted by Jurjen Hempel on the 3rd of August in the Royal Albert Hall, London - tickets are £6 !!
Its going to be amazing, i'm going... if you want to join me send me a PM!!
    love Jaz

*edit* you can also listen to it live on www.bbc.co.uk/proms on the night if you can't get there, you can continue to stream it from the net up to seven days after the concert.... how cool!!
