They should make a rave forum section. i didn't know where to post this.

Last night I went to my fifth one, and each rave I go to is a better time than the last. I am so frickin happy from it too cuz I went from having one friend that I go to gay clubs with, to having and meeting a bunch of friends in a much cooler scene. The first raves I went to, nothing was really appealing about it besides the music, but now I'm completely diving into the 'culture'. Everything about it is just amazing, it's bringin life back into my life.

What's the rave scene in your area like?
What type of dance do you do? (I shuffle, but I'm learning how to DnB)
How much kandi do you have?
    How much PLUR ya got?

I was interested in what you had to say until I realized I need a dictionary to understand it.

That's the problem with "culture." But I wouldn't mind going to all night parties with lots of electronic music and whiskey. Not as easy to find as it may seem. [IMG]

Socal has a pretty good scene. I like pretty much all the genres and subgenres but psytrance and house are probably my fav. You should check out electric daisy carnival this summer if you want to go to a massive. Its alot of fun but gets really crowded.

    Kandi is lame.
    plur is lame.

    your face is lame.

Oh yeah I'm planning on going to EDC, I'm so excited for it! cuz i haven't been to a massive yet, cuz they're so expensive! I'm waiting for EDC's website to start up so I can buy my tickets as early as possible.

And I didn't really realize rave scenes are only in certain areas like CA. Cuz the rave-central website I love and use is: www.plurlife.com , they have most events in CA, AZ, and CO. :/
*actually i just checked the website and there are events in a bunch of states*
    http://www.plurlife.com/events.php
    check it out maybe

I've always been intrigued by the rave scene and thought it sounded like a lot of fun, but I don't think I have the stamina... plus I'm claustrophobic... and I can't dance...

There are 12 year olds at alot of raves. 25 seems ancient to them.

Sorry but outside of Europe, theres no such thing...not the same free parties and sound systems that we get anyway.

How do the systems work there? Is it a named system owned by a crew? Ive been working with a local system for the last year and me and my dad have built a few of the Cork systems:

I really cant imagine yer lot having the same atmosphere as here or the UK though...

yeah they're not free most of the time, but real cheap if they're not a massive. and idk what you mean by 'system'. "a named system owned by a crew", well yeah there are a few companies that put these together. I really don't mind paying money cuz its worth it to go. There are occasional underground raves, but it's hard to find a spot for them cuz it has to be well hidden but a large spot at the same time cuz theres a lot of people that rave.

The lineups are delicious too. I can't wait for edc this year cuz it's got Afrojack, Jack beats, Laidback Luke, Deadmau5, Armin Van Buren, Kaskade, Infected mushroom, Atb, Swedish House Mafia, and Gareth Emery.

Here are some vids of EDC, what the style is in this area and stuff:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mavi5mVCWts"]YouTube- EDC 2009 Los Angeles LTH Shuffle
and this one shows the average shuffling style well.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARoaga3NB5k"]YouTube- sweeets shuffle @ nocturnal 09

So yeah its probably way different in the UK and Cork but I'd pay up to 60 bucks for a ticket. they even had fireworks in 09.

There isn't really too much much happening, you need to go out to some of the big cities. When I was at school there used to be a few out in the national parks in summer because no body lives for miles, so it's free space and stuff, but I haven't heard of anything happening in a while. Think the police caught on and have made it harder - Scottish police don't mess around! Usually just in someone's house or squat - Scottish style!

Usually head to Glasgow (although the last time I was there was a night never to forget!). That's the only problem with being out with nessie and the sheep.

Theres not enough people for there to be regular parties here but when they are on (one or two each month) its always about an hour or two drive from the nearest village/houses

Usually up the mountain somewhere or else we found another spot last year, near a place called Youghal in East Cork, actually the nearest village to it is called Pilltown
Its a little cove, theres a burnt out warehouse about 20 metres from the little beach.

Mad spot, its the main Cork systems 10th anniversary on Friday too so theres going to be a bit of a teknival by the looks of things :D
A few systems confirmed and its going to last a few days Id say. My supplier from the last few ones there is giving me a lift again and he says he has some lovely "presents" for me

Raves are dying out in my area due to the MDMA shortage. Go to Ibiza for some REAL raves.
It is a great feeling being on MDMA with so many other people, dancing, and knowing everybody around you feels the same, everyone being free together in the moment. It is a beautiful thing
