i dont like the term 'afterlife' as a rasta because it suggests 'you die, your not living anymore, so what happens AFTER you live'

i prefer the term everlife. Nobody ever truelly dies.

As a rasta i have come up with a nice quote to sum it up in simple terms.

imagine the human body like a nutshell? and if you break open a nutshell, throw the shell away, you get a nut, the precious part inside, plant the nut it becomes a tree, which becomes part of a forest etc....

so imagine, when your body breaks and gets discarded, your soul can be free and it will go wherever the almighty see's fit to take it. whether it be to heavenly zion, or whether it be down here in another body.....there is no such thing as death. forever life.

I see, thanks for the sharing of your philosophies.

So you don't believe that the world will someday end then?

I don't see life as you soul becoming something else. I think of it this way.

When you die and are buried in the ground, or whatever happens to your body, your body will decompose and then turn into something else. You may grow into a plant or become dirt and then a rock, etc. etc. You know what I'm saying? Kind of like energy, it is neither created nor destroyed, it just turns into another kind of energy.

I belive in the same thing.. for real. One night I had a transcending experience and I thought exactly the same thing... but it was more of like I thought it but couldn't translate my thoughts.
I also agree with the everlife thing. I dont think we really have a beginning or an end

Yea, thats how I feel too. And you live trough other people, too. How you touch people stays with them and it can affect other people as they go. Its like a cycle, cause we are all interdependant. The way we interact with others shapes the way we are and other people are, even though we dont realize it. It could even be something little, like if you hear someone talk about a movie and you think it sounds good so you watch it and turn out to love it... that person affected you in some way. Ya know? Thats how I felt at my grandpa's funeral, he touched so many people and I know his spirit is alive through other people.
