Random Thoughts IS Hipforums' toilet.

It is the place where all of the offensive and useless material that provides no nourishment for other parts of the Hipforums is dumped, flushed and broken down by friendly bacteria (or "RTers").

By that reasoning it can also be called the anus as well.

The person who coined the term "toilet" for hipforums is snocbor, in retaliation for our behaviour in lunarverse's thread about the universe. I found the term interesting in that from one point of view, it is a toilet, or a place to put all the "waste" that people from other subfora would turn their noses up at.

 

Actually if you look at a map of Australia, Adelaide is where the Anus would be

I've never agreed with that sentiment. I think that good discussion can and does happen here, and people actually switch to "serious mode" for it. Hell, there have even been threads that went for over a 100 posts while staying on topic. (remember that one about being born to die with Aura, John, and Jimmy?)

Problem is that way too many people post here, and a large percentage of them are complete idiots... so lots of garbage has to naturally be processed, gorked, and lolled out)

I totally agree.

I am just being whimsical and pointing to the fact that at least half of our posts are offensive, racist or moronic despite the fact that we are perfectly capable of having enlightening discussions.

I also agree about the idiots and in an ideal world (like Nazi Germany) they would not be born.

 

We should make our own little Nazi Germany happen here.

One thing I have always hated about RT is that jokes seem to be put under as much scrutiny as serious, intellectual propositions.

There is a lot of shit in here, definitely. There's a lot of people able to discuss things in an intelligent and eloquent manner, and we see this quite often I think, but it's not fun to be serious all the time.
