I just realized I know the person who popularized the spork. He got KFC to carry them... and they were the first restaurant to use sporks, back in the 1970s. Now they're all over the place. Instead of an expensive engagement ring, you could present your wife-to-be with a giant foam hand that said, "You're #1!"...
Yeah, I was talking about that with a couple friends who also know the guy. I was like "Does Taco Bell carry the spork solely because of Taco Salad...?"
thats awesome. only boring rich people live in my town. owner of Albertsons (it started here), JR Simplot, .. um other people. In california, a lot more interesting people. Van Morrison used to live in the town I call home. Anne Lamott lives down the street from my house. and the Grateful Dead were known to be around (duh).. Jerry died a block away from my friend's house
My grandma's neighbor, when she lived in Seattle, used to be Yanni and Linda Evans. They lived across the street from each other and used to see each other at the laundromat. My dad was the neighbor of the guy who invented mountain dew (in Marion, Virginia) Andddd... he and his friend were babysat by Bonnie Raitt, for a brief period, while in North Carolina.
There is a guy that goes to see my mother (she's an eye doctor) who pitched in (I think it was) the 1969 World Series... he tore up his shoulder really bad a short while after that, and now he coaches Little League teams. He sold his WS Ring back in the 70's, though Brett Favre often goes turkey/deer hunting around here, and has been known to get drunk in the bar a mile from my house, haha.
