Tom, not sure if you are on a dug or point. We are on a dug and when we had a problem a few years back we did a temp hook up of the submersible sump in the well and used it until the pump was fixed. Ran a hose and collected enough water to get by. Nuisance as you had to plug it in and bring it in by buckets and all but it worked for the week we needed it.

Sorry to hear that, it sucks when you have no water.

 

I usually don't pay before I check either... I was just so happy about the idea of having water again and being able to bathe that I figured I'd save time... as I said, I already know I shouldnt have...

As for talking to them and making a deal or a compromise...

I paid them to do a job right, not to fuck it up and cut a deal afterwards... but more importantly, when I tried to explain how it was fucked up and the guy started to argue that they didnt do it, my choices quickly became smash the pump upside his head or leave...

So I left...

 

We aren't 'totally' without water... I've been filling up buckets by jerking off the pump line... lol

 

I had to replace the engine in my old car a few years ago so I took it to Canadian Tire (big fucking mistake). They left a gap between where the engine connects to the transmission and some plate was rattling around in there. After I brought it back they wanted to charge me to take the engine out, replace the plate which they had cracked putting the engine in, and put the engine back in.

After much of a stink and threats they finally agreed to do it free of charge. Moral of the story, never have automotive work done at that shit hole. At least not the location I went to. Though I've had problems at 4-5 different locations across the city.

 

I am not even going to ask if it "was good for you"?

 

Well, it gets me breathing hard, makes my arms sore and when done properly the pump line squirts...

 

NEVER go to crappy tire....from what I heard the mechanics are paid by the job...not by the time it takes so they do things quick and halfassed and its a real hassle to get them to fix things they broke because they know they wont get paid for that time

 

I stopped going after that. I found a really great, honest mechanic out in the country who has a shop with a few of his family members. They do good work, and they're very fair price wise.

 

Are you sure you really want to fix that pump after all this fun you are having?

 

I went to buy a car battery from crappy tire a while back...

as I went to walk up to the cash to pay, the guy behind the parts counter blurted out.. you know you can't bring that back right?

I stopped and turned and said what in the hell are you talking about? He said, once you pay for that and walk out the door, you can't bring it back.

I said, like hell, if this battery fucks up, I'm bringing it back... he started to argue with me, til I told him to shut the fuck up and get a manager...

After the manager heard the store, she says, oh well you can't get cash refunds on batteries but if something happens, you can return it.. and then walked away... Didnt say a thing to the guy behind the counter, like, you should apologize for that, or dont be such a moron, or try to remember next time... or anything... just walked away...

My best crappy tire experience (and last one I will ever have) though was the day I tried to buy tires there and they tried telling me that just because it said in their flyer that the tires I wanted were on sale, doesn't mean they have to give them to me at that price....

I seriously can't decide which company I hate more... Canada Post, or Crappy Tire... lol

I used to do body building...in my early 30s...I built up a fair amount of muscle at the time. Now my main cardio exercise consists of going up stairs every chance I get on my daily commute. But I've gotten back into more exericising lately - nothing too dramatic - I went from 20 pushups to 27 in about a week - biceps and triceps curls using dumbbells w/ adjustable weights - butterflies, crunches, and leg lifts. Luckily my weight is pretty good and no belly to speak of - kind of amazing considering all the beer I drink.

So I'm thinking I should be ready for a boxing match with you in about ummm maybe next lifetime.

 

Fact- I think I'd rather get attacked by a wild animal then get attacked by Mike Tyson when he was in his prime. He was a machine!

 

Best to walk away - they can't be trusted to do it right and be fair, so fuck em.

 

We have a great mechanic - a Middle-Eastern guy - close to the train station so I can drop a car off and walk. He made a mistake on one of our cars once, and ever since then he has bent over backwards to give us good work at low prices.

 

lol... so I think I have the pump back together... took a full grinding stone on my dremel to do it.. plus some sealer... but I think that part will be fine...

just about the time I was thinking I could go hook it up and see if it all worked... something occured to me....

I didn't buy the seal kit...

 

One punch from him woulda probably killed me.

in august i bought a battery for my truck at crappy tire....while at the counter I asked the clerk to look up my brothers history and see if the battery was on there since he couldn't remember....turns out we were 5 days past the warranty...the lady serving us said she would authorize a 50% discount because of the close warranty expiration...i thought this was pretty cool


got it for 50 bucks

 

I just should have stayed in bed today... opened a new pack of smokes a while ago... had one... put the pack down.... It's nowhere to be found now...
