Piper was good and she is a clean girl. Emma wouldn't walk into the stall. I'll have to get several gallon jugs of warm water and bathe her outside one sunny day.
Joke In Todays Local Paper I Would Like To Share....... The Young Wife Texted Hubby On A Frosty Bathurst Morning...... "Windows Frozen-Will Not Open" He Texted Back:: "Pour Lukewarm Water Along Edges And Tap Edges Sharply With Hammer. Five Minutes Later She Texts Again: Laptop Really Buggered Now......... Cheers Glen.
Just cooked breakfast for my little buddy. Grandson's school is out today and tomorrow. Grandpa keeps sneaking into the kitchen stealing more bacon. We're going to get into some wood cutting and burning some brush in the pit until the girls get home from school.
My boss asked me to paint Yellow lines in the works car park so no one will pinch his parking spec ! I said do it yourself you lazy **** But he kept mithering me !! He was not amused when I wrote Disabled Parking only on a lighter note one of our Asian Guys was parked there when I painted the lines so I printed a Sticker and put it on his windscreen Parking on yellow lines £50 Fine Everyone laughed at that one
Piper's surgery went fine. She panted and whined for 4 hours after I picked her up. Afraid that she was going to dehydrate or have a heart attack, I took the e-collar off and took her outside. She only peed a little but she laid down with her head on my feet and relaxed in the yard. After about 30 minutes she wanted to come back inside because she doesn't see well in the dark and it makes her nervous. I put the e-collar back on her and let her lay at my feet by the desk. The e-collar makes her anxious and she's still panting, but not whining. She got uncomfortable on the floor so I put her back in her kennel on her soft bed. She's laying down, head up, still panting. Hopefully she will sleep eventually. She took all 3 of her meds, reluctantly, but refuses water and food. Now for the healing to begin.
Man. I hope this doggy will calm down. I hope I can find an e-collar cone that she can wear without claustrophobia. I have to. The wrapping comes off tomorrow and her surgery incision will be exposed. Right now the whole leg being wrapped in all that's keeping her from licking, I'm sure. I've read reviews on various e-collars. There are inflatables that don't seem to work well because they aren't durable, also long legged dogs can get to the wound in spite of them. The flexible cones have the highest user rating but they aren't see-through like this plastic one. She, or I, or both of us, are going to need weeks of sedation.
Piper is resting right now but in a little while I'm going to try this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbUPdBBRIG8
ive been to wichita falls there was no falls there...except for some stupid little one that im pretty sure was artificial
Glad piper is home and recuperating. None of the dogs we have ever owned liked those collars, especially the Shar Pei's as I think it made their vision feel blocked. Hope you both stay sane through the healing.
Piper may just have to suffer through the anxiety of wearing the cone. It's clear so she can see. I know it still feels claustrophobic. It amplifies sound also. If nothing else will work she will use it and hopefully get use to it sometime during the 10 days she has to wear it. I know it feels mostly too big for her kennel. I will probably let her stay out of the kennel unless hubby and I both leave the house. I'll do what is best for her leg healing, even if she loses her mind. :dizzy2:
I'm hoping our new dog doesn't end up being dumb. He's still a pretty young puppy so who knows? He's getting along just fine around here so far but my wife says he might end up being "simple".....but then she will try to point out things that he does that she thinks are smart. Also...in case I didn't mention it....I decided not to call him Cracker. I wanted to name him Judas. The girls agreed to that (except they insist his name is Jude...after the Beatles song....and they call the other dog Lucy...as in Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.....damn fan girls). Nonsense.....the other dog has always been Lucifer. So now we have Lucifer and Judas. Hail Satan!!
I was saw a human baby that I was convinced was showing signs of Autism. A couple of years passed and I was astounded. I was utterly wrong about that child.
