The triplets team played their first ever 10U, girl-pitched (as opposed to coach pitched) softball tournament today.

They won two and lost two. The two they lost were by one point in each of those games. They also played mostly '05 born teams and they are an '06 born team, which means the '05s have been play girl-pitched for a year now.

I'm super proud but I didn't get to attend due to hubby's bowel issues.

sun going down. last satyrday of hot august nights car show bullshit. fireworks going on somewhere i can't see them from here. loudspeaker announcements of rafle ticket numbers. no idea where wherever it's coming from, but definately live outside somewhere, not just some neighbor's.

 

Got our shit worked out. Everything is fine. Camp fires work in amazing ways.

Here's a pic of one of the triplets from yesterday's game. She had to stand up to catch in this girls' strike zone.

I don't know! It was a benefit tournament so there was no sense pulling birth certificates.

We've never asked to pull a birth certificate because ... you know, if you aren't right you lose a couple hundred bucks; but we have come up against some really curious ones.

It's tournament ball so they hold tryouts and do recruit some real giants.

 

It costs money to make sure everyone playing is eligible? That's really kind of bullshit. When I played baseball...I was a catcher, short stop or outfielder....depending on where the coach wanted me. I played on the all-star team in Chicago for 3 years and we never had any rule that made people pay to ask or be wrong about eligibility. That just doesn't seem like it's in the spirit of the game to me.

 

But on the flip-side...if they're holding try-outs and getting these bigger kids and all three of your grand-daughters made the team (being fairly small)...that's pretty damn impressive! Well done, girls!

Yes, if you want to pull someones birth certificate and you are wrong it costs you. You put up money to contest a game based on a player's age and you'd better be right about it or you lose the money.

I've been playing my ass off at home lately. My kid came home a while ago. I was going to jam out with him for a while.

We turned the power on. My wife came downstairs to go to bed. That was the end of it.

A dedicated band wife is a great thing but you have ti respect the limits.

If my son would get his own place...I could have my music room back but I enjoy having him close to the family and I enjoy our musical conversations. You just can't get time back.
