I rarely let my opinions of a musician or vocalist influence my appreciation for their music (I guess one of the exceptions is Charlie Manson :p). Btw, Jimbo was only a part of the Doors. Sometimes people tend to overly focus on the frontman, certainly with the Doors... I guess maybe you just don't like his vocal style? Yes, we can hear Morrison deliberatly lowered his voice to make it sound better (in his opinion), so fucking what. His songs and the band he was part of created a legendary sound. He definitely is not overrated as a frontman or on stage performer as he was one of the best ever in rock.

The Doors were great, as a band, and their music is still one of my favorites. None of them individually would have created anything as deep on their own.

It's one of those great examples of the right people coming together for the right 'project'.

I once got a bit tired of them, maybe even for over a year, but that was mostly because I knew their stuff too well and had listened to it too much. Now I still can't enjoy Light my fire anymore (or even remember that I once did :D). But the majority of their stuff is fantastic. A highlight in rock for me personally.

I don't connect you finding the Doors overrated to a possible personal dislike of me, rolling :D I just think if people love them for the things i mentioned they can not be overrated at all.

They make strips to sit between the stove and counter top. I don't have any of them, though.

Well, I now have cut the top off of the biggest bay leaf tree cutting, and made it into a cutting (hoping to root).

Lordhavemercy...I BETTER have at least 1 bay tree out of all of this...4 going now, and I see 2 more twigs to cut from the original (at ground level). I need to worry about something else. lol It hasn't even gotten time to bring all that in. Godhelpme...where in the world I'll put them that's safe (from Mama and the cats) I have no idea. :dizzy2:

I love the Stones and the Beatles.

The Stones are so fine to listen to, dance around and sing with.

The Beatles play so damn fine on the piano its unreal. Plus I love their harmony.

I don't dislike the Dead...my late husband LOVED them. I'm just more a Stones and Beatles fan.

I don't know anything about Bay Leaf trees but it sounds like you're trying to get water sprouts from the base of the tree to take root...similar to how almost all apple trees are started. I don't know how much or if this would work better for you but the way apple trees are done is by leaving the sprouts on the baseand building up saw dust or some other organic material around the base of the tree and the bottoms of the sprouts. This causes the sprouts to start growing roots. Then you remove the saw dust and cut the rooted sprouts and plant them in dirt. But those sprouts aren't fruit bearing so the next step is to graft fruit bearing stems to the sprouts. I could go on but that's the basic process. I've done it a number of times but it isn't my specialty. I wouldn't think you'd have to do any grafting though.

Had all my stuff worked out before practice tonight. I was pretty happy with how it went. We still have one more practice to tighten things up on Friday afternoon. Then I will go home, eat and have practice with band #1 on Friday night (or possibly Saturday...but most likely Friday). I'm kind of looking forward to that. Maybe 7 or 8 hours of jamming in one day. Then play a fest on Sunday.
