i have so much fun with these people sometimes.

one just called me and asked whether they were speaking to an adult member of the household and i told them they were speaking to one ... hehe i knew this was gonna be fun she asked me if i wanted to participate in a survey to raise money for something (really wasn't payin much attention ) so i said sure !

she asked question after question to which i responded with my own questions such as what's your favorite color (hers was green ;)) i told her mine was yellow

she didnt give up immediately tho, and asked me my date of birth to which i told her that i was never born i arrived from outer space lol. This is when she said thank you very much for participating in our survey today .. to which i said, no thank you for wasting your time on me have a great morning (it's almost 5PM here):sunny:

seriously..fuck outta here !! lol people actually sometimes give up all their info social security number and everything

my job at the moment is pretty close to cold calling, the people i call already subscribe to a service we provide and know the company, but arent used to getting called and sold things by us.

i swear i'll never be rude to a cold caller again. people get pissed and slam phones down/swear at you cos your taking up less than a minute of their day with a conversation they don't want to have.

I don't want to have that conversation either, but i have to, for 7.5 hours every fucking day.

spare a thought for the poor fuckers.

what you did actually probably helped to entertain/break the tedium for the cold caller though, so it was a good thing, i dig it when people actually wanna have a conversation.

i dont mind it, ive made all kinds of calls myself .. its just a phone

lists of numbers go for pretty decent money i hear and the numbers those ppl display on caller id when they call could actually be pretty useful themselves to keep a list of.. or so ive heard ;)

its possible to display w/e they want on caller id it doesnt even have to be a valid number (it does have to be a number tho)

wow .. i got another call, same prefix different last 4. asked for my date of birth i told her i was born in 1776 then she asked how old i was and i told her at least 200 but i wasn't very good at math ;)

she asked me how often i use the internet and i told her i catch fish in nets, and she repeated the word internet and i sad "what kind of net did you say?"

then she asked me whether i used any mobile or wireless devices and i said only from the payphone on broadway .. she laughed when i said that for some reason and ended the survey but i still feel she never got to the good stuff

isn't she supposed to ask next what mobile carrier i use and stuff like that .. if she calls again i'm gonna tell her keep practicing

im not sure if it was the same person or not, i think it was a different person

they get paid to read a script, i guess, don't make jack what you answer. could be an actual artificial intelligence, but more likely a slave somewhere in india who only knows the english in the script and machines record and sort the answers.

well i have no phone so i have no idea. i remember years ago when my wife was alive, which other then a couple of pay as you go phones i've had different times, was the last time i had one, we joined the national don't call registry they had in the 90s.

i only have a cell phone, so i don't really get many random callers. just that damn recording that plays a foghorn sound effect then tells you you've won a cruise or something. don't know why that's the only one that affects cell phones.

i used to have some fun with prank callers back when i worked at the pizza places, but i think as caller ID has grown in popularity, prank calling has decreased greatly.
