This was my first race, and I had a blast. It's this trail run with a whole lot of hills. 24 km, 2:08:53 time. I'm still kind of revelling in that post-running high.
Gozzam! I says Goddam!!! Good for you! I ran 45 minutes this morning. 1:15 minutes two days ago It's easy now that I quit smoking. But there is no high like running high
i don't think i've ever run much more than a mile at one time, and i don't particularly expect to at any point in the future. good for you though.
sounds like a fun race and prax, runners high is good and all, but i have had better highs from other physical activities. runners high is pretty low on my list
i think the physical activity that has gotten me the highest is physically placing a particular piece of paper on my tongue...
pretty high, but not the highest its actually when i get the chance to pick someone up and drill them into the ground and watch as there head bounces up off the ground
There is that. Then there is body-builder's high. Which is good. But the best high for me is the high of overcoming a challenge in real life. Or at least in sports.
That's an amazing Sitka. You must be pretty fit. I have been procrastinating since my birthday that this year is going to be the year of fitness for me. Started running this morning.
I placed 21 out of 45 guys, 27 out of 91 overall. Good enough that I wasn't embarassed by anybody that beat me - no octogenarians showing me how it was done.
my dad did that right up to his 65th birthday, now he rollerblades his half marathons. keep it up, it'll treat you well.
i really wanna do this one of these days. i need a suitable place to start running again though. i'm not much for trail running, i prefer running on sidewalks, lol!
Good Job! Half Marathon is my longest run I have ever done..but I have hiked 20+ miles many times..anyway, the half marathon I did, I did it barefoot..not the wisest idea, my feet were hamburger by the time I hit the finish line.
oooh, i don't... i had minor shinsplints once. i enjoy running and working out but i prefer sports, especially soccer.
lol... and soccer's gonna be better for shinsplints? i mostly prefer running on indoors rubber tracks. that's nice on my knees and my legs and stuff. plus it's nicely climate controlled.
haha very true, but i like the scenery and variety as well! it doesn't seem like such a task, to me, when i'm running in circles. but alas, i have had to befriend the treadmill as of late.
