Anyone who is into Eastern spirituality, love, good vibes, the history of the psychedelic movement, or any number of other cool things should check out the documentary Ram Dass: Fierce Grace. I watched it for the third or fourth time during a recent trip with one of my best friends, and, I have to say, the emotions, message, and story of Ram Dass's life really touched me on a whole new level during the experience. The amount of happiness and love the man spread is hard to fathom. There is one scene near the beginning that really gets me. We meet a couple, Steve and Anita Isser, whose eleven year-old daughter, Rachel was tragically killed (the video is not explicit about the cause of death, but it is heavily implied that it was unnatural). They discuss how they did not see how they could go on following their daughter's death... that their children's lives would be ruined forever, their lives ruined forever, and that no hope would ever exist again. But, a letter they received from Ram Dass changed their lives and opened their hearts back up to love. I couldn't help but think after watching that... after learning that Ram Dass has saved the souls of these people from eternal torment, just as I believe he saved mine just over a year ago when I happened to find myself reading a copy of Be Here Now... that if I could do the same thing for just one other person, then I could die having felt I had lived a meaningful life. Check it out. Seriously. Love, Alien Allen
You know Allen, I guess unless people see the movie this thread wont pick up much replies because you cant understand the nature of the letter Ram Dass wrote them, but wow I was just recalling that part and I nearly started crying myself. Love really is all that matters, and in fact, Love is the only thing that is real.
One of the few things Terence McKenna said in his last hour was 'the only thing that truly exists is love' just thought you'd like to know the most noted psychonaut of this age agreed
Very true man. I hope people will read the thread and be inspired to watch the movie. I am glad you got something out of it I figured you would! Love is all you need man.
