Welcome ladies and gentlemen to where the show business never stops! This is not just a thread for filming assets. This is a thread for the kind of tools required to produce all styles of visual special FX in any motion picture genre.
Stop motion animation can be a creepy thing. Little more than the foundation is needed to pull this off of which is why I have posted about it first. Playing slides up to around 24 frames per second is said to make this work even creepier.
Chroma key animation is dependent on assets. Footage is filmed on a blue (or green) background. The background is then digitally replaced.
The giant monster in this scene is a stop motion animation clay model. The small monsters running along the banister are actors in latex costumes. Both processes needed to be filmed up against a chroma key background to then digitally put them together.
