Rainbow Gatherings...

How many people use this forum that attend Rainbow Gatherings as well?

 

I did this summer.

 

I've been wanting to go to one for a long time now, and was wondering how you felt about it?

 

It was one of the greatest couple of weeks of my life.

 

That's what I was hoping to hear =)

I really would like to start busing around to them.

 

me too...never been but am hopibng to change that in July!

 

maybe I'll see you guys there...

maybe I won't...

What is a Rainbow Gathering?

 

hard to explain
lots of people gather in nature
for a while

 

its way more then that

i've never been to a gathering... yet. funny though, as jrnyman and i were moving out here to california, when we were on the road, we were stuck in jackson tn for a week waiting for a car part, and this old drunk beggar dude assumed we were going to a gathering just cause of my dreads and jrny's long hair and beard.

i thought he was psychic, cause i had been in the room, reading a rainbow family thread on hip with my laptop, and i walked out the door, and he yells "hey rainbow!" i was so surprised, i turned around and was like, "huh?" so then he asks me if we're heading to ocala. i'm like... uhhhh... no, we're moving to california.

then he proceeds to tell me about how he used to go to all the gatherings, and stuff, but then he became a born again christian, and now he doesn't go to rainbow stuff anymore, cause god is so good to him, and the christians feed him and stuff. it was wierd. i felt sorry for him, but he seemed happy with his life, beggin on the street corner, buying beer with the money people gave him... who am i to tell him how he should live his life.

but anyway, i guess a beat up beemer towing a trailer and a coupla hippie people makes for a journey to a rainbow gathering, huh?

i got a funnier story

after leaving the cali gathering we were 4 states away when out driver (now deaseased) was having bad health probs cousaaghing so hard he broke a rib..we stopped at a lil conveoineince store to ask bout where a neasarby hospitol was..and a cop pulls in
we tell him our freind needed to get to a hospitol so he called for an ambilance..then he says to us
dont take this wrong, but are u guys comming from a rainbow gathering?
we were 1000 miles away in the middle of nowhere so were lil shicked and thought they must have put out a warning to cops everywhere to be on the lookout for rainbows or something
but we just said yup sure are and the cops like da,mn thats so cool, i worked one years ago and it was so much fun, you guys might smike alittle herb and much a few shrooms but your peaceful..i likee that i cant wait to go back to one out of uniforem..

i thought that was just the coolest cop ever

 

Anyone go to the gathering at Gold River, on Vancouver Island?

 

I bet the best place to have gatherings would be in Colorado. I want to have one in Kentucky.

 

colorado wasnt bad vermont was the best gathering though
next years new mexico and the last 1 there was amazing
