I have been to the Rainbow website and was fascinated by it. I never knew that they were so many people that wanted the same things out of life. I'm in Northern Virginia and looking to leave soon. I would love to find a community that would welcome myself and my cousin. Does the Rainbow Family have communes set up anywhere where people can go and sleep on a couch or in a tent for a few months at a time?...or longer?...I'm lost in this world and looking to find myself...searching for that happy medium...thanks for reading and i look forward to hearing from you soon...

While not rainbow, you could check out some communes like twin oaks, it's in Virginia near Charlottesville. So is the commune ACORN. Both are respected, especially twin oaks.

Generally you're required to an internship and stuff before you can live in a commune, but I suppose you knew that.

Hello there, many are in the same boat as you...

Maybe if you update your profile(about me), tell us about yourself, what skills you have, what you can contribute to a commune, then you'll find more options.

Also go look at the Alternative Living section, under Communal Living and Camping/ Outdoor Living, you'll find more options.

    Peace,

check out the 'diggers and dreamers' website too
There is also plenty of info in the commune section of this site, and alot there would be of a similar point of view to yourself, at least in theory. Just be careful you dont put yourself in a situation that you cant get out of if you dont like it.

    All the best:cheers2:
