We mourn the passing of a man who fought hard against censorship

And Tommy famously played acoustic guitar with John Lennon in the Plastic Ono Band's "Give Peace A Chance" recording. He was funny also. I've also heard he made some good wine in later life.

I loved their politics and activism. Unfortunately they were REALLY cancelled and censored. So Cancel culture started with conservatives control over the media, despite what they want people to believe. They like most liberals of the day were champions of FREE SPEECH.

So free speech was NEVER a right wing issue until they got so upset that their lies were being monitored, corrected and indeed ignored whenever possible. Hey Elon had to spend 44 Billion to ensure that millions would see every word/lie he posts.

Indeed, the far right has taken over so much media, they completely dominate middle America with their political propaganda. And yet they play the victim every day...

I remember many of the antics purported by Tom acting so stupid with Dick correcting and arguing him. It was some of the best and cleanest comedy there was. You don't find it much these days as sex and foul language has to be added for it to be funny. As far as the controversy surrounding their show, they were dead on with what they tries to present. But it seems the main stream media is still censoring the truth about what's happening in the world.

They did add sex and foul language, as much as they could get away with at the time, which wasn't much. But they were constantly pushing the envelope, and while it led to the eventual demise of their show it did help to ease the regulations. Now even network TV shows can get away with a lot more, let alone cable and streaming. The Smothers Brothers were pioneers in the field.

Let's not forget Share a Little Tea with Goldie. It had the nerve to (subtly) discuss marijuana in a positive light!
