    Hey,
I have been smoked weed regularly for about a year now, although there is a lot of variability, usually at least a once a day. I have recently cut down for exams and stopped.

Since I stopped, I have been feeling more motivated, more happy, in fact, just plain feeling awesome. However, I cannot attribute it to only weed as I have had a few small tokes here and there.

I have also done a lot of spiritual development in the past few weeks which could be attributed to my happiness, and started exercise (as I am more motivated), I am also getting potent dreams again. I was wondering, is it the lack of weed that is making me feel this good or a combination of a fair few things (From your own personal experience)?

I don't see myself giving up weed, but perhaps limiting myself when I do start again won't be such a bad idea?

it's probably your own sense of being set free from something. it's not the weed, per se - it could have been compulsive computer gaming, too much painting, too much of anything. if you felt like you were smoking too much, and then stopped, it's a feeling of liberation. you might feel your world opening up a bit, re-discovering things, being more social in a meaningful way, or finding meaning in small things. this has virtually nothing to do with the actual substance of cannabis on its own, and more to do with your relationship with it.

this is my sort of experience. eventually i started to feel a little muddled inside from too much weed - sort of like, i wasn't sure if i could be sure of all my decisions - and gently letting weed go really opened me up. however, i do love weed and i know it is completely a part of me and i could never be ashamed in the least!

try taking it easy when you start again, but go with the flow. remember how good it can feel to smoke it once in a while.

also, i very rarely have dreams when i smoke. i think (my own analysis!) its because we access so much normally unconscious material while high, that our dreams (unconscious things) don't show themselves so potently as they normally do when we sleep.

I had the same feeling since I quit smokeing but its slowly faded even though I still havn't smoked. like wonderboy said it was more of a liberation of it and I felt relieved I guess that I didn't have to go sneaking behind my parents backs and such and it opened me up more.

I definately started dreaming hardcore after I quit about 2 weeks after I stopped. but recently (the last 2 weeks or so) every single night I dream about fucking up my probation by smokeing and im like oh shit but I wake up later into it. lol. oh well
