Yesterday, March 22nd at 1:27 P.M., we welcomed Axi Zella to the world! She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and measured 19 inches! Pictures will come soon! Gotta go!
Thanks everyone, she is the most beautiful female ever. Not that I am bias or anything. Skyes first meeting with his new sister consted of a big hug, a little kiss and the attemted removal of her face. He likes to "beep beep on the hana(nose)" He knows what the words "be gentle" means, and was more careful after I told him that he needed to be gentle with Little Axi. Still don't have picture up yet, I will download them when I have more time. Talk to you all later!
Congrats! I'm so glad everything went so well. I want to see that baby!!!!!!!! We had to teach our toddlers how to "Nice the baby with ONE finger." as often todders get a little exuberant about loving their siblings. Our kids were allowed to touch the baby "Nicely" with one finger only, on the baby's hands or feet at first, until we knew how carful they were going to be. I'll never forget seeing 2 year old Sunshine trying to lift newborn Moon BY HER HEAD out of the wind up cradle in the living room! Toddlers will usually grab the largest part of the baby, which is usually the head. We had to teach her to "nice" Moon, and to not ever pick her up, unless an adult was handing the baby to her. Moon was three when Lennon was born, and she would ROLL him from place to place, as she had been told "Please don't lift the baby." The babies all survivied OK, but gave mama a heart attack. By the time Sage was born, the kids were all old enough to know enough to be gentle with her. Lennon was nearly 8, so he still needed supervision, but he knew to be very gentle. Always let the toddler hold the baby, with supervision, as they really enjoy doing this, and the baby loves it, as well. I have so many pictures of my babies with toddler sibs, just beaming with love for thier brother or sisters.
Congratulations!!!!And I LOVE the name you chose. So unique and beautiful. Maggie, your post reminded me of a story my mom always tells. When my little bro was about 2 years old, she kept hearing this thumping in the play room. She ran in and saw my litle bro curled up in a ball and me rolling him around the room, his head bumping the floor with every rotation (apparently he wasn't walking fast enough for me ). Of course she freaked, and told me to stop. I guess a small argument ensued with my brother and I BOTH arguing that he liked it, it was fun. She worried for days that we had somehow damaged his brain. He turned out fine, but it's a long running family joke that whenever he does something not terribly bright, it's because I damaged the "common sense" part of his brain.:jester: Again HL, congratulations and many blessings on your growing family.arty:
