Quick Question

I don't have a grinder, so what i usually do when trying to break up weed is, i either use my fingers or some scissors to cut it up nicely, then i put it in a jar and just shake it around, a lot... until it breaks apart and becomes more fine.

But i noticed a lot of white powdery stuff along the edges of the jar just now, are these the trichomes rubbing off? If so, is this bad? I would assume it would lower the potency of the bud, but maybe not?

 

look into buying a keif box.. got this one on ebay for $25... no more worries of looking at all that keif caking to your stash jar.. it falls through a fine silk screen and onto a collection tray

 

that's pretty awesome actually, i should probably just get a good grinder while i'm at it too, with a keif catcher.

But what do you even do with the keif? I've never heard of anyone i know using it for anything, do you just sprinkle some over your bud before taking a hit or roll some up and add it to a joint?

 

yes...that is crystal.....and a buster is just another charge as far as i am concerned....stick to scissors

 

Am i loosing any (or much) potency from shaking these crystals off though?

 

I dunno but I use a coffee grinder and whizz mine up. Al that shit catches but ya clean it up and nice buzzz

I cut mine up in a shot glass with cuticle scissors. The hits get really good when I dump a bit of the fine stuff on top of the bowl. I made a scoop by cutting one end of a plastic drinking straw into a spoon shape.

 

i go outta my way...way the fuck out of my way to get coma weed...i make sure all yje crystal goes into the doobie...its not that hard...why buy weed to collect the good parts for later?...just smoke another doob later instead

 

i more so collect it.. instead of waste it.. the weed sits in a jar and loses trichromes.. or it sits in a box.. loses those trichromes as it sits as well.. but instead it's collected... not wasted.. that's why i got the box.. same with the grinder.. i use it to collect what would otherwise be lost from breaking it up with my fingers..

 

Probably a little. But I don't see why you need to shake it up in a jar. Fingers should be good enough I would think.

I like to save kief and take big giant rips of straight fine sifted keef straight to tha dome.

fuck puttin it on top of weed.

Another question a little off topic... I rolled 2 joints a few days ago, and i forgot and left them just sitting on a shelf in my closet unwrapped and everything. And i wont be home for a few more days, so does leaving joints just out in the open for like 4-5 days dry the weed out to much? Will it loose potency or burn too quickly now?

 

I also use a coffee grinder. All the kief settles up the top on the lid, then once I have good build up, get out the paintbrush, brush it all off and have a GREAT night!

 

We used to just through a few coins into a plastic jar with a lid and shake the shit out of it, Cant say it turned out to fine, sure done us good tho,

 

Damn dudes, nothing beats a pair of great scissors in the hands of someone who knows how to use them. If the shits been dried proper, can be cut up in a bowl in less than 5 minutes! Easy as shit.

 

I was at a festival and had a big bud, no scissors and it was raining, i hid under this little wooden shelter along one of the path ways, along came two lady's and in an instant one made mere hands into a cup shape the other had the scissors out and was mulling up in her hands, all of a sudden we had this massive joint, one of the best I've had, Some more lasy's rocked up and needed a joint rolled needles to say we had the procedure down pat, Nice joints, nice rain, nice lady's, nice mud and nice music, Epic Esperance one of many,
