my friend's dad is a pediatrician and he claims he can get me bottles of pills for like $10. i'm just wondering, what do you all think a pediatrician would keep in his office that's worthwhile? i know as a fact he won't have any oxy or vicodin, but do you think there'd be anything good in there that's worth my money?
what trippin said - but i highly doubt he would have Schedule II controlled substances just laying around in the office but if you're talking about what kind of stuff he would prescribe, he probably also dispenses adderall, adderall xr, and possibly benzos
look for the prescription pad. hes a children's doctor, all hed have is stimulants and probably not even them, specialists generally prescribe pills, they dont sell them
i dont know if its like this everywhere, but in the US doctors are bombarded by pharmaceutical companies trying to get them to prescribe their drugs so they can make a lot of money. they'll give the doctors tons of free promotional stuff, and many doctors are supplied with large numbers of "free trials" to give out to patients so they dont need to pay to get a prescription filled at the pharmacy if its short term use. usually this is to win over a patient as well as to win over a doctor, and hopefully (for the company) the patient (more accurately the customer) will have a good response for the doctor, inducing the doctor to prescribe it more often. i dont know what all drugs are available for doctors to get for free and pass out like candy at their discretion, i'm sure it wouldn't be something like OC, but they may have -some- interesting things laying around. if its just laying around the office though, its probably nothing better than ritalin. if you don't know what you're getting, and he's saying a whole bottle of "pills," for all you know it could be penicillin...hell, 10 bucks isn't much at all when the pharmaceutical companies are involved....
Nesta, i think you're a cool person in all. But what you're referring to are samples. It is highly illegal for any doctor to give out controlled substances. Only a select number of prescription meds are controlled substances. it's pretty obvious what's a controlled substance and what is not. I mean, would you ask you're drug dealer if he has andy Prozacs? No, you'd be asking him for oxycontin or adderall or anything else with abuse potential. And about the pressure from the companies i do not know this so i will not dispute it. Also i just wanted to say that if you want to be in for a real laugh, go to the "busted" forum of the marijuana forum and click on the topic "special brownies", it's pretty new so you'll see it
