Question!

Doesn't it seem like there are two types of people who smoke pot? There are your group of friends who aren't stupid and smoke pot for a good time or a better experience, then there are the people who they show you in Health class to make reefer look like the absolute worst drug. I don't know any people like that. I think they pick the worst people off the street who are also on crack and who knows what else.
I told my friend that I had been smoking pot and she gets all huffy and says, I'm tryin to escape from reality and my problems and that I find things to be depressed about so I can smoke pot. And then I said I was mainly curious as to what it was like when I started and she says now I am just justifying it. Well, she needs to pull the stick out of her ass. And, amazingly, my grades have stayed up, and I am doing better in art class. Does anyone know what I mean?

Yeah, all of the smokers I know are hippy smokers except for some of the fucks in school who smoke oregano.

And yes, there is always 2 groups of stoners, this has been brought up a number of times. I mean, ya got your Ghetto Smokers, and your Hippy smokers... Assholes Smokers and Generous Smokers... Dumb Kiddy smokers and Knowlegable smokers....... it goes on and on.

 

i dont think things where better with weed back then there where alwasy assholes they dont understand to bad for them you know why you do it and your fine with that why care what they say

 

there will always be 'asshole smokers'...all you can do is spread your knowledge and kindness...maybe it will catch on someday

i think part of the reason people were more "friendly" with their bud back then was the low prices compared to prices today. not saying people shouldn't be generous though...

that was a run on sentence and a half sorry, but realy i dont think in the 60's people where as giving,prices where lower but so was working wages,there are always asshole there will always be assholes ,i dont think just casue it was the 60s makes it better.

 

yeah, i definitely agree with you that there were, are, and always will be people who bogart all the bud. but i also think that at least part of the reason that "hippies" from the '60s are portrayed as always sharing is that they didn't pay nearly as much for it. even factoring in inflation and such, something like $15 an ounce is still a much better price than what's payed today. i don't think it was as good a quality though...

 

None of us were there in the 60s so it's stupid to say they were nicer then. Human nature, especially capitalist American nature, has not changed. We were greedy then, too, even with the counterculture...you can't help the environment you were raised in, it's always there, from your formative years, no matter what you do as a teen and an adult.

That said, I do agree with the threadstarter, those people in health class or antipot comercials are bottom of the barrel, or, more commonly, actors. It's definitely misleading.

 

but we do have videos and photos and such. who's to argue with all those smiling faces? =D

 

I consider myself a Hippie smoker. If you want to toke then I'll roll you a joint. In fact I was going to buy my friend a joint because I smoked without him, but when I couldn't get it he got all mad about it and said that I owed him. When I was getting it anyways.

My dad said that when he was in school a joint was $1.
My health teacher said that now the strains of pot are much more potent with THC. He said that when you see the videos of people from the 60s hanging out at concerts the stuff they smoked back then had less THC so they always looked like they smoked more.

 

just as ALL people come packaged in varying degrees of intelligence, so do stoners. but don't let the semantics of my previous sentence suggest to you that stoners aren't people we're all different.

 

alright, but a gallon of gasoline cost 29 cents in 1957... amazing right? Adjusted for inflation, it's equivalant to about 2 of today's dollars. Actually about the exact same price as it is now...
