I've read about Wicca before but there are a few things I don't understand. 1. When you cast spells, whether it's on you or another person, good or bad, can you say without a doubt that it really works? 2. If you do cast a spell on yourself or someone else, isn't it just slightly manipulative in some ways? I guess what I don't get is using the so-called magic. Isn't it kind of nerve-wracking to be doing things like that? Wouldn't you be afraid you'd mess something up and it all comes out wrong? I'm not meaning any of this in a threatening or harassing kind of way. Just curious.
I honestly have no idea. I guess they think it works. -shrug- I have a feeling though that the magic you assume they do is nothing like they really practice at all. I'd like to think it's something from supernatural or The Craft but really, they're probably bogus spells that are initiated by random events rather than because they used magic.
I'm not Wiccan, but I do feel I should clarify that magick isn't what you think it is. You might look up the Law of Attraction... That's closer to what true magick is than a bunch of hocus pocus.
"thoughts influence chance" So in mass congregation there are more minds at work to manipulate the chance of outcome.
I'm no longer a Wiccan, so grain of salt here, please ^_^ 1. When you cast spells, whether it's on you or another person, good or bad, can you say without a doubt that it really works? No. 2. If you do cast a spell on yourself or someone else, isn't it just slightly manipulative in some ways? Only to the same degree that everyday speech and actions are. Whenever you interact with someone, you are either being 110% sincere or you are being manipulative in some way. We act calmly or politely or formally to arrive at some outcome, negative or positive. It takes an extraordinary person to not try to influence anything. Magic just uses another, very direct method. I guess what I don't get is using the so-called magic. Isn't it kind of nerve-wracking to be doing things like that? If you're taking it seriously, I imagine it is. I heard magic explained once as being a part of the threefold-ness that is so popular with Wiccans. Something is most likely to succeed if you use physical, mental, and spiritual effort. I guess. Any magic which influences another person without express permission is seen as black magic/cursing to many. I don't subscribe to magic, but this is what I understand to be the thinking.
are you really 30 years old and asking if magic spells are real? to answer your question- no. magic is not real. unless you are wearing a cape, then it's totally real.
Its reAl alright. Has to bee ssseen to belave, likes spirts dont mezs with what u dont under stand.....
1. there's always doubt, but after a certain level of familiarity, the doubt ceases to matter 2. depends. is the casting target within the subjects mind? messing with the mind is almost always off-limits, except in the extreme of need as for the nerve-wrackingness: it helps to plan well in advance. the planning helps you address some of the big sticking points and minimize possible damage, thus helping alleviate doubt to the extent that it doesn't get in the way of the actual casting. as for natural philosophy: TROLLLLLLLLLOLOLOL!
... would you go into a church and scream out Nietzsche quotes? trolling is not a question of the validity of a statement. it is a question of whether that statement is made at the appropriate time and place. we are no strangers to love. you know the rules, and so do I.
One of the oddest things about magick is that a few people seem to know what it's for. It makes sense, since what most of us see in movies and fantasy novels is using magick to accomplish totally trivial tasks like washing dishes, changing costumes, or even cursing people and battling hordes of monsters. In reality, Wiccans take on different styles of magick. One of the branches is called Thaumatury and it basically means it's practical. That includes spells for healing, safe travel, finding jobs, and protecting your home. If you cast a spell in any of these, Wiccans are usually mundane about it as well. Sick? Get some rest and fluids. Your house doesn't feel safe? Install a new lockset and deadbolt. Magick is not a replacement for commonsense measures, it's a powerful booster. That being said, you can't just snap your fingers and pray that your spell will work. You need to give it time and do obvious measures to make it happen. Say you want more money in your life, casting a spell would be the booster - and going to your boss and asking for a raise would be the mundane. As for casting spells on other people, by the rede you should always ask them before doing so. Curses are rare, and if a Wiccan decides to curse someone they are breaking the Wiccan rede. Bad witches. Even if someone you know is sick and you were wanting to do a healing spell for them, it's always important to tell them. I hope this helps answer your questions in any way.
