Hi folks! So I'm deciding on moving to Portland real soon, if not, real later. The latest i hope to be there is by the begin inning of next summer. Well I've been searching and 'sploring for the perfect neighborhood, and I just can't decide. I know you Portland people know your way around. So my question to you guys is which neighborhood is the more laid back one? more "hip" friendly? Thanks to all
SE Portland for sure. or even certain areas of ne. id saw around hawthorne or ladd avenue. lots of great food, and lots of great people. although portland itself is really hip, so pretty much anywhere.
I have to agree with SunGoddess8. Pretty much anywhere in Portland is hip and laid back. The east side is more hippy-friendly than the west side is though but there isn't too much a difference. The Hawthorne neighborhoods would rank near the top, and even some areas of NW Portland as well.
anywhere close to hawthorne downtown area is where you want to be but....a bit spendy for a house unless your into roomys which will be easy to find on the list
