i jsut got mine done a couple weeks ago and it seems like its trying to heal over the back of it. is this something that will fix itself or should i take a razor to it or something or what. its just a little flap of skin

Don't take a razor to it. Mine did the same thing, and I just had to keep messing with it. I'd suggest giving your piercer a call. Seriously though, don't start removing skin yourself.

its very common and its called imbedding. your post might not be long enough or it could be badly placed. see a good piercer about it.

not if your post is too short and it keeps growing into your lip. theres a certain amount of imbedding thats good, but if your lip is trying to eat it, youre going to have some problems. if you got it pierced my a good, reputable piercer, they should exchange your jewellery for something that fits better with no charge.

That's what I'd do. I think it's a fairly common problem. Get a longer post (at least until it's more healed).

i agree with the above posters. get a longer post. mine swelled up and looked like my lip was going to swallow the flatback. saltwater rinsing and aspirin helped reduce the swelling for me.

yea all oral piercings should be done with pretty big jewelery for reasons of swelling and the tendency for them to imbede themselves. get a nice long labret stud, but not too long that it will bang into your teeth!
