I have to take a drug test for a new job sometime in the next week. I take tramadol occassionally, presumably for a back ache but actually because I just really like the buzz it gives me. I don't have a prescription, a friend just gives them to me. Does anyone know if tramadol will show up on a drug test as an opiate?
I wonder, since its a non narcotic, if I told them I took them occassionally for back problems if they would want to see a prescription or just take my word for it.
If this is true, then tramadol won't cause you to test positive: http://www.erowid.org/ask/ask.php?ID=2839 I've found a few other places that say the same thing. I think you're good.
Even if it does test positive, opiates are out of your system in 1-3 days. So, if you have a week just don't take any more until you're in the clear.
I wasn't really sure how long they stay in your system, so thanks for that info..yeah, I should be good then.
Yes. I took Tramadol in an abusive fashion for about 7 months, and when I went to get on Suboxone about 6 months ago, it registered as Oxycodone on the drug test, and the doctor told me that any of the low-grade opioids (Tramadol, Darvon, etc.) will show up as Oxy a good amount of the time. Of course, I get the feeling you are taking a miniscule amount compared to what I was taking (at least 10 50mg tablets a day), so it may not even show up.
