i attempted to make an apron skirt last night, but when i got half way through, and tried it on, and it didn't flare out in an a-line, it like, did this gross tight thing around the bottom......i 8 small darts at the top- i don't think this has to do with my problem, i'm thinking maybe it's because i didn't make the spin large enough?? i know some of you babes make apron skirts, and i was just wondering what i did wrong....i'm still new to this jazz.... :&

I either gather the skirt to the waistband or I cut them a-line.

Exactly what I was going to say..make sure your panels flair out quite a bit like triangles without the pointy top. Make sense?

I don't like to gather skirts at the wait, because it makes me look really wide, but I did cut it a-line, i followed the pattern to an apron i have, but i made the waist more full, so it was only open at the back a little, and not showing my whole ass like a normal kitchen apron. im so mad, this woulda been the hottest apron skirt anyone's ever seen!
