Hey I was wondering if anyone knew of a good peace organization. All the one's I have looked at did nothing but sit around and be depressed about people not supporting an end to the war and the like. I am looking for an organization that really works towards its goals..you know get's out there and protest, march...anything but sit around. It seems like my generation has forgot what Lennon said. Every person in my generation has turned to apathy as an answer...if I don't notice it won't hurt me. That's the kind of thinking that allows our goverment to pull stunts like the war in Iraq. So if anyone knows of a good active organization please let me know....or you can email me at GBPackerfan1122@yahoo.com. I know there has got to be some good organization out there somewhere.

    Thanks and pray for peace,

    Al

Hey Donvito, I am in Oztralia so won't be able to help too much if you are in in Ohio.
But I did want to say I am so happy to hear that you want to be active in changng the world for the better and in bringing peace to the planet. More power to you and hope you find the right active-activist group (ps. I know what you mean about them sitting around and whining)...bright blessings!

Thanks for the kind words. I have found an organization I think I will be happy with, they are actually doing something on july 4-6 in washington infront of the white house. They are holding a fast for peace. Even though Bush will probally sit there eating a huge hamburger and laughing it's a start and may get some publicity. Hopefully draw the attention of other Americans. They are called World Can't Wait and they stand for everything that I personally beleive is important. Gay rights (even though I am straight), supporting peace, equal rights for all. If anyone knows about this organization and could let me know if they are a good one to go with let me know. If not I'll give you guys a report of how the organizational meeting goes for the fast if anyone is interested.

Donvito--(a sick joke on a fictional man who would have just as soon rubbed out traitors like you, fictionally)-- what was wrong with the Vietnam War? During it, we had a great economy, cheap energy and plenty of dope. Once I beat the draft, I couldn't have cared less about the war--as far as I was concerned, I wasn't concerned-- if they would still be fighting today, I'd only be worried about my taxes as karma works itself out. Same about Iraq, except in this case we need to recognize this is the ultimate war: a war of religions, cultures and world-views. We need to stamp out these godless vermin before they drag the entire world into a dark age of soul and spirit. Your wife, sister or daughter can be treated like cattle and made to wear a burka.

GOD BLESS GEORGE BUSH AND DICK CHENEY!

Bush is dragging this country into WW3-His current approval rating is below 30%!-Even that idiot Nixon had better ratings-Bush and his oil barron cronies lied about the need to go to war-then didn't have the brains to bring in support from other countries-He jumped in to pull a John Wayne saves the day macho bs-and now lots of our people are dead and dying and the whole world hates us-Good job -Now-Lets give the richest people in the country a tax break-cut all the programs to help families stay afloat through these days of no jobs-Bush figures it's ok to export good paying jobs-to save his buddies like Haliburton and Bechtel more labor costs-So-Is it fair that an American born and raised here should have his job shipped to India and he gets to support his wife and kids working at 7-11?_Is that the best the Republicans can come up with in the way of a economic recovery?_Thats piss poor-self-serving-greed politics-Anybody with half a brain and and a need to survive; would do well to remember all this when it's time to vote-He stole the vote last time-No More!

If you can't find what you're looking for in an existing organization, my advice is to start your own. Gather your friends, relatives, and anyone else who may be interested, then take your message to the people.

In my opinion, there's no activism like grass-roots activism.

Robspace - bravo! I heartily agree with you. I am Australian. I don't hate Americans, I feel sorry for them. You have lost your democracy. These days, no matter how you vote, it makes no difference!

If I was religious, I'd thank God (or Allah or whoever) that I didn't live in Amerika (spelling intentional, go read some Abbie Hoffman). Although sadly since I live in England with Blair in charge, it amounts to more or less the same thing. Except you don't have chavs in America (British people know what I'm on about).
