in highschool I almost never missed psychedelic sundays with Andy Frost, braught to you by the friendly stranger and home grown hydroponics (get growin, get growin, call 1-800-info-grow, hahaha, do they still have that add?)

anyways, Oshawa has a fairly decent classic/new rock station now, and they don't have as many adds I find. And every thursday and friday night they broadcast David Marsdens the spirit of radio, the greatest rock broadcast ever (the dude is legendary)

My favourite station in the GTA though is by far jazz 91.1, they're a public broadcaster so it's VERY minimal advertising. They have an amazing range of programming and excellent concert listings and jazz community news.Plus they support and collaborate quite a bit with the Humber Jazz program and local jazz artists so it's a real cultural force and makes Toronto, IMHO, one of the greatest Jazz cities out there today.

CIUT 89.5, the University of Toronto station has some realy diverse and bizare stuff, it's great if your in the mood for oringinality

ive been listening to them less and less over the past few months. Probly has something to do with the fact that ive been listening to the radio more since ive gotten my current job. Psych psundays are great, hell I even had my own radio show in school, the psychadelic psound, which totally ripped it off. Unless theyre playing psych stuff, I find theres too much hair metal, or kim mitchel stuff. I really cant stand him, hes really annoying. LIke any radio station, they tend to play the same songs over n over again, though since they refuse to play new music, the songs they play never change (unless bon jovi puts some new shit out). 97.7, 107.9 and 94.9 are similar station, who tend to play some new music as well. 102.1 has definately got the best morning show.

    94.9, the rock

last job I had I'd listen to Gallager and Beere every morning on the drive there, the Beatles Breakfast segment ALWAYS came to an end right as I pulled into work...not a bad way to start the workin day

It's a good reliable station when you wanna hear something to sing along to.....but the songs get a little old, you know?
