Put away the cups the tea party is over?

    Well never say never - but the feeling is that the tea party movement is on the slide, not doing well in the recent Republican Party primaries.
    One argument is that ‘responsible’ republican voters are taken ‘back’ their party

    "Republican primary voters are speaking out and making clear that they don't want professional tea party groups hijacking primaries and picking their candidates," Republican strategist Brian Walsh told the Journal. "Those days are over."

    Another view is that the movement is not needed anymore as it has moved the Republican Party enough further to the right to where TP supporters can vote for mainstream candidates.

    Or could it be that it’s down to wealthy sponsors backing away from what they see as a mistake.

    I wondered in the above thread if the movement could find its own momentum and funding or would it disappear without wealthy backers, maybe this answers my question?
