About 3 months ago I moved out: but I left my cat behind with my mom, my sister, and my mom's boyfriend. My cat's name is Neo, and we had her for about 10 years (along with another cat, Kleo, that died January 1st of this year).

Now, this month, my mom and her boyfriend decided to rent out my room and my sister's old room to 2 Chinese women who are in Canada to learn English: fine and dandy to me.

However, because my cat's litter box is in their part of the house, my cat got freaked and started defecating throughout the house. My mom's solution? Kill the cat, keep the renters.

My mom isn't really that cruel, but it was an option if someone else didn't take the cat. I don't have any friends, so thankfully my boyfriends mom (who is a vegetarian and practically an animal activist) will the take the cat tonight.

I'm a little worried though, because Neo only grew up with one other cat, and my BF's mom has tons of cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. etc.

Also: my cat is obese. She is an indoor cat and we fill her food dish when it's empty, so there is always food. The other cat we had was normal sized so it may be a thyroid issue with my cat. But this also concerns me, because my mom rarely took my cat to the vet, but I know my BF's mom will spend the money on my cat for the vet and to make sure she's okay. I offered to help pay the bills and I'm sure my mom will put in a bit though, should a large bill come her way.

Anywho, just wanted to tell the story: and hopefully all goes well tonight!

ANYWAY, Neo is now at her new home.

She has been hiding in the corner for the past 5 hours and hasn't eaten or drank anything since she got there.

    Any suggestions?

give her time, maybe a crate w/ her own scent space, bach flowers rescue remedy for stress. don't expect her to eat for a few days... and keep her own litter box nearby. the pooping all over the house thing was a stress expression of the new folks i her space.

well, she's still in the corner today. I know she'll get used to it, but I just worry.
