Okay so I was shopping today and I noticed this girl (probably age 13-15) in that range, baring a mid-drift with a pretty serious belly button piercing. Maybe it's just me, but at that age I think that's too young and seeing that on a girl for me was a complete turnoff because it felt like too much too soon. Is that just me or do you guys feel the same way that younger and younger girls (and guys too) seem to be being more moody, entitled, and just edgy is happening at lower and lower ages. It's like being a sweet person enjoying childhood is all metrosexual it's and media saturated now. Or am I just crazy alone here with this view of the world?
I see 15 year olds wearing shorts so short their butt cheek is out below the material. Lots of bling on bellies showing and ass tats where the jeans are low enough to show it just above the crack of their ass. Seems to me we have this thing, when peeps say "she dressed like that so she asked to be raped", we get angry and rightly so, but seriously, are those moms allowing their kids to show more then necessary for going to school? Yes! I see more ass cheek now on the streets then clothing. But then again I also see fat women wearing their shorts under their bellies with their shirt upward enough that all you see is gut flopping around, they look kind of like pregnant women but they are not pregnant, just showing fat flopping around. Seems less is best even in clothing now.
You get what I'm saying. I see it too and as a guy I have no idea why girls think guys like that, sure some guys do like the skin showing, but a lot of my guy friends agree that the tramp look with stuff hanging out and ink everywhere is a turnoff. Upon further discussion with my friends we think it's because such actions taken by girls (even more so when they in the very young age range) just screams insecurity, and so for those of us looking into the insight of a person's character, it's a red flag.
Mid drift shirts are in style now. Maybe he didn't implicitly state she was dressing for boys, but I still agree with mama. She was probably just trying to be stylish. I wore a lot of shirts that showed my belly as a teenager and so did all my friends because they were also in style then. And teenage girls are really the only ones who can pull that style off anyways.
Mighta, shoulda quoted that post since it wasn't the OP that you were responding to. I missed it too. A lot of people will read the original and respond to it and would miss one posted later.
13-15? That's still a child. I think it was more disturbing that you said you were "turned off" by the way she dressed rather than the thought of a teen wearing revealing clothing. I guess she likes what she's wearing and not all revealing clothing is necessarily sexual. If someone's legs or stomach are showing, whoever sees this person may sexualize what they're wearing, but hey, maybe it's just a hot day. Just like mama said, she's wearing it for herself and not to attract men. Men are the ones that can't control their hormones just from seeing legs..... Her parents should probably talk to her and tell her that some people might get the wrong idea, but nobody is required to cover up.
I used to dress provocatively as a teenager, we ALL did, anyone who denies it is being disingenuous, it will always be the challenge that teenagers will rise to! As long as they are loved & cared for & taught the basic principles of good over bad, of right & wrong, they have to be trusted to do the right thing.
I think some of these girls dress to get attention. They are bombarded with images of "sexy" and they want to be popular and sexy too. That and the clothes out there are pretty slutty. I taught myself to sew so that I can make regular length clothes for my girls. The stuff I make is comfortable and nothing shows. As long as parents keep buying the clothes, they will keep making them shorter and shorter, as I have noticed.
As an adult I often wear clothes some may consider skimpy, but its just because I hate being hot and I like to be comfortable. Short shorts or skirts are my uniform for summer. I think our society just hyper sexualizes everything. I didn't even know what it meant to be sexy as a younger teen but I still wore short shorts and shirts that showed my belly.
I usually play a little game with myself when I see women in low cut shorts and belly shirts coming at me from a block away I call it "Britney Spears or Winnie the Pooh." I have to decide from about a half block away whether that outfit makes them look like Britney Spears or Winnie the Pooh before they get close enough to actually tell. C/S, Rev J
Girls also like to wear certain types of revealing clothing that shows their shapes waist & hip better than those of baggy styles that don't show their figures
I'm seeing more kidlets to mid 20s in midriff shirts. I happened to be in high school between two waves of the look, so "sexy" for us was tight jeans. Oooohhhhhhh. I think that teen years can also be called bad taste years. But we need photos our families can use as blackmail.
I often read about the body signs of attraction, such as pupil dilation etc. if this is in fact true, and that provocative clothing can sensually arouse people who are viewing it, and things like pupil dilation from attraction are proven to be scientifically accurate then wouldn't the Muslims who criticise females that wear revealing clothing who are then raped sort of correct about it all. Of course they don't deserve to be raped, but if revealing clothing is at all a factor.. I think woman need to rethink their clothing strategy. If you're after the attention, unfortunately that's exactly what you might encounter.. positively or negatively.
Just because men are scientifically proven to be attracted to female bodies does not mean that women are at fault when men cannot control themselves.
