purple stalk

    if plant grown outside and stalk of plant is purple and it throws off a stintch does that mean plant is doing good or is it a sign of missing something in soil???

    Not enough information!!! But, the stench part is good! Some strains grow purple and many strains react to cooler weather by turning purple but I doubt that they're talking about the stalk of the plant. I have never experienced purple stalks, but then, I've never grown in a colder climate. Most deficiencies show in the leaves. Maybe someone else can give you a better answer.

    I live in a cooler climate and right now all 6 of my ice plants have purple stems
