The "Yippies" were a political group started by Abbie Hoffman. They were basically militant hippies.

I started reading 'Steal This Book' and I didn't want to finish it!
All it was about was anarchy.
JUST like the anarchists cookbook.
All he wanted to do was get shit for free.

No fucking shit!!!! Abbie believed everybody should live free, that we shouldn't have to pay up to the man for shit that we NEED to live. Look at us now, paying more than ever for shit that we NEED to live. Abbie gave instructions for free food, housing, travel, everything that you can imagine, everything that we NEED to live and NEED to enjoy ourselves. He was never a negative person, he knew this country was fucked up but yet he only came up with ways to solve the problems. That's as positive as you can get.
Steal This Book is nothing like Anarchist's Cookbook, I've read them both. Anarchist's cookbook teaches you how to make bombs, Steal This Book is the How To guide to living Free. There is nothing negative about freedom.

intheflesh, jerry became a yuppie in the early 80's. he wouldn't smoke a bowl if he was still alive, sorry.

nathan, anarchist's cookbook came after steal this book. it was made for the general same purpose. to stick it to the man and live in anarchy. both explain how to make bombs.. one just focuses on that a little more. and abbie was for peace, he just wanted to take down the thing that was causing war first. .. but if you weren't awed by him, that's okay. he wasn't perfect. and i'm not expecting you or anyone else to think so. peace, brother.

 

i try to do something amusing for my sick mind and you guys take it all out of context with these ...yippie people...;_;

Abbie Hoffman could have found better and more peaceful ways of "leading the revolution" at points he was a very reactive man who made the whole movment look like a joke.
