http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Pepper Unlike Coca-Cola and Pepsi, Dr Pepper is not a cola. Allegedly, Dr Pepper's flavor is derived from a mixture of soda fountain flavors popular when the drink was first devised. A partial list of these flavors can be seen at the Dr Pepper museum in Waco, although the formula itself (with its twenty-three ingredients) is a closely-guarded secret. Also, contrary to a popular urban legend, Dr Pepper does not and never has contained prune juice[1] (http://www.snopes.com/business/secret/drpepper.asp). In Texas, Dr Pepper is extremely competitive in the soft drink market, regularly outselling Pepsi.
Are you sure you're not thinking of Coca-Cola syrup, Ryan. It wasn't used as a laxative, but to settle the stomach.
nope, from what I heard, it was dr pepper...... they used to have those dr pepper clocks, you know the kind, that had certain hours of the day (which said pepper time) I cant recall the exact hours, I think 11, 4 and 7?? I guess? I dont remember, well, anyways, thats when you were supposed to drink the dr pepper to keep regular.
I thought caffeine in general had laxative qualities? I've never really been into dr. pepper, but lately i've been enjoying it far too much mixed with either chocolate syrup or french vanilla creamer. It's really good.
chocolate syrup in Dr Pepper?....sounds very odd, but i'd try it. I like the new cherry vanilla Dr Pepper.
