This is a hypothetical legal question of course, and I am kind of thinking of the United States. I don't think they'll ever legalize prostitution here though at least in my life, which is kind of sad. But you know, for handicapped people, their only sexual outlet is prostitution. There was this guy in England, and he didn't want romance, just sex. Anyway, the brothels in England operate in kind of the gray area of the law. He said he could go to one. But they tended to be filthy and run down. So he went to the Netherlands. You know, the handicapped should be protected against discrimination, when they enter a brothel. And it was wheelchair accessible too. But I was thinking. In Nevada, prostitutes get to opt out, if they choose not to have sex with a client. He had no trouble finding one who would though. Thoughts?
Were it to be legalised there could be real benefit. 1. safer environment for sex workers 2. better time for wives wishing not to do certain sexual things - he can go to the brothel. 3. Mobile sex workers who could visit the disabled and elderly in care homes/nursing homes. 4. one less taboo in society I have often wondered what is the practice in nursing/care homes. Do the guys wank? Have they been caught/watched by a nurse? Does any nurse provide health care of that sort? (It should be considered health care shouldn't it?)
Opinion only: The handicap just want their independence at whatever level that is for their particular disability. That said, sex is a big part of “mental health” and the families of handicapped individuals need to be aware of those needs and be proactive. Secondly, society and the laws need to change. I’m not saying it has be openly done in public, but access to sexual help should be available.
Appreciate that gender wise this is the other way round, but as a male sex worker I have serviced disabled female clients and do not discriminate against them whatsoever. Mental health issues are a little different and need to be very carefully considered to ensure the person has independently chosen to pay for sex with no coercion and fully understands what they have chosen. p.s. I'm in the UK where prostitution is legal but with strict limitations, brothels aren't legal but do exist illegally (they're the filthy run down ones) and some exist and are supported by local councils to ensure the welfare of the sex workers involved.
As I said, they are all illegal in the UK. In some places local authorities and the police overlook them to ensure the welfare of the sex workers. Locals know where they are. There is no list. A good article on one that is allowed to operate: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-43784251
I saw a documentary of a fully disabled adult male in the UK traveled to the Netherlands for sexual release (they were not very specific about the actual act) Apparently, they even had government assistance in his trip. Another was a mother who assisted her fully disabled son masturbate by undressing him and placing his penis in a fleshlight like device strapped to his hand. I understand both cases and have very mixed feelings on both. Dating for both would have been very unlikely. And its a slippery slope of allowing this. Yet is it cruel to forbid it being sex and masturbation are both considered a very healthy activity. I in no way support any prostitution of able-bodied people. If you need to turn to prostitution, I feel you need medical help to identify why you are not able to have sexual relationships.
I think The Netherlands has it right. I've been there a handful of times, though not in a decade. I wonder how much has changed. They also have assisted suicide, which I also think should be a human right.
I won’t encourage others to it but at the same time offer a perspective on it. some men are done with relationships but still want the occasional moments. It costs but it’s a choice they make. Some are honest with themselves and recognize that relationships are not suitable for them even though they may desire it. But making the right choice of not putting themselves and someone else through something they know will not last. some people are socially deficient and maybe just too shy or awkward to be able to find a life partner so they resort to having occasional hired pleasures I had an acquaintance friend who was in a relationship and was not happy. Instead of having an affair he chose to have quick pleasures with escorts he knew he was not going to get involved in a relationship with. Wisely one of the partners divorced the other, I was not around to find out who initiated it and where he went after. and as per the thread there are people who due to being handicapped they find it very difficult to find a partner i think it has its purpose and it could be legalized, justified in some cases
Not to resurrect a zombie thread. But you know, prostitution would allow people like the handicapped to have sex with some really gorgeous people. People they wouldn't get the opportunity to in their personal lives otherwise. Usually the handicapped have take whatever fate gives them with sex partners. And I'm sure that's usually normal and handicapped people. But having sex with unusually attractive people. That is kind of point of prostitution anyways, isn't it? I know it's the point of topless bars. And plus, I think it could increase their self-esteem too.
Just one?? lol I think it should be legalised and well regulated. I think they provide a much-needed service to society and are not the same as the 70s construct where they all seem to be spaced out druggies. There's quite a lot who operate independently, via online channels, so there's no pimp involvement. Remove pimps and you remove exploitation. My 2c
Just to summarize, for legalized prostitution, I certainly support. I think it's not just a matter of freedom. It gives people the option of sex, which is always a healthy part of human lives. And it gives people like the elderly and the handicapped the availability of a sex partner. But the rules, some of which need to written in law, are different. They include: 1.) There is a greater chance for exploitation in the profession of prostitution. So it needs to be regulated more carefully. 2.) Sex is still a personal choice, even for a prostitute. So prostitutes should have ability of opting out of sex with individual clients. Discrimination laws otherwise should still apply, to all protected classes who wish to go there. 3.) All other working environment rules should still apply, the maternity leave, pensions and retirement for the prostitutes. 4.) And lastly. Certain other rules, mostly health, need to apply. Exams and STD checks of prostitutes and clients, for example.
Prostitution serves a purpose as the unbalance between men and woman sexually is there. How many men turning the age of 55 are finished with sex? Not very many. How many women that age? Yea, there's a lot of dead bedrooms across the world. Prostitutes take up the slack. Right now a good fuck with a hooker runs around 200. Take a nice girl on a date and you spend nearly that and still go home and jack off. When you look at it that way you should realize all men are handicapped. At least as far as getting pussy is concerned.
