Project Runway Inspiration

Okay, is anybody else addicted to this show? I recorded the first season over the weekend, and watched some of them yesterday. I think I've learned some stuff watching it. I love the use of all these different fabrics, cuz I'm used to using cottons and hemps. I like how Jay's final clothing line had the patchy stuff in it. The big coat he made was amazing!! It had these cool quilt blocks in it. They looked kind of like leather, but I wonder. Imagine doing patchwork in leather!!! I think I'd go nuts with all the sticking. . .

What else inspires you guys? Besides Mother Nature?

 

I haven't had a chance to watch the show, but i'd love to. Do you have any pics of what they made?

 

I love this show too! The thing is: I think I need more than my trusty Brother to sew some of those more delicate fabrics like silk and muslin.

I get inspired just by matching different fabric colors together. I go crazy piecing random stuff together. My problem is always what to do with these crazy pieces once I've made them.

 

I absolutly love project runway, it always puts me in the mood to sew, Season 3 starts wednesday

 

I love that show so much... after every show, I always get the urge to go create something new.... I can't wait for the next season!

i agree. I LOVE that show. I love seeing the creativity, even when it sucks. I love seeing the process of the idea going from head to paper to fabric to model. It's fantastic. Reality TV at it's finest. With the exception of Survivorman :&

i worked for gap/banana republic when it first came out..so i watched it outta curiousity..you know i was hooked tho..
jay is a fuckin ROCK STAR..i love him bestest!

i'm so addicted to project runway! it's got me watching the tube (and that's a hard thing to accomplish! lol)

 

I watched it in the states, but when I came home to Canada we were several episodes behind... in the US they had just finished making those skating outfits, and in Canada we were still on My Scene Babie. I wanted to wait until we caught up, but then I got a job where I worked nights and ended up missing it all.... SOB!

Jay was the shit though... HOODIE KLOOM!

 

That guy Mulan (season 3) is soooooo annoying. Even his face annoys me, I hope he gets booted quick, But I have a feeling that hes gonna stick around just to be the person you love to hate

The Coffee filter dress was amazing, did you see the "road to the runway" thing, He had made a dress out of muslin and it was absolutly amazing

Just so you two know.. i now OFFICALLY hate you... talking about Season 3! How dare you! Now I know there is going to be a coffee filter dress AND a basket hat! I might as well just not watch the whole season, you've totally ruined it for me!
