Pregnancy Test...how long until it is accurate??

The last...hmmmmm....about 7 or 8 times my boyfriend and I had sex in the last month it has been unprotected and he went inside me completely...lets say he really wants a child...but its sorta like he does it and doesnt worry if i get pregnant. If I were to get pregnant we would get married and would of course keep the child. We are old enough, responsible and stable enough as well. Its weird cuz im not suppose to start my period for about another 2 weeks...but I have been spotting blood really lightly in the last week...which has never happened to me before and my back is hurting. But I have one question though, we bought a ept test but it says u have to wait until 19 days after the last time you had unprotected sex...so I did it too early and it says I am not pregnant...but is it a waste to do it too early?? Is there a reason I have to wait so long?? Could I still be pregnant??? Help, if anyone has gone thorugh this or knows more than I do can you please give me some advice...thanks

 

The pregnancy hormones need time to build up in your system. Thats why they tell you to wait until your period is due. It gives the hormones a couple of weeks to build.

I would wait until you are due for your period. I think EPT says you can use their test the first day you miss your period.

 

Ugg, More children on this earth??? this crap is sickening me. Think about this everyone. We are growing in population so much in peoplewise that in the next 20 years, we won't have one open nice field to sit and watch stars. The streets will be crowded as hell, as will everything else. Money won't be worth much cuz there would be so much of it. Murders will happen because of the money, and so on. We have 6 billion people on this planet. At the rate these ignorant couples spit out their damn stupid kids, we will be hitting 35 billion people in the next 20 to 25 years. A kid is born every 3 seconds in the planet right now, and increasing each year, and will continue unless we do something. If I was in any office at all, I would make a law for pregnancy or amount of children someone can have before mandatory being fixed as hell to quit the shit before it builds... If this can be done, we can save our planet, and space we have left for us, and wildlife... Thats my views. I can't have kids no matter how much I cum in a girl from an iccident when I was younger, so I'm not worrying about it.

 

I was just listening to a radio show that says that the government legislates that we have to wear seatbelts in a car, that we have to wear a helmet on a bike, who & who can't get married, who can bare arms, who can vote, ect...
The radio host suggested then that the government legislate who & who can't become parents!! Obviously because there are so many people having children that shouldn't. Anyway, I read your post & that came to mind. Sorry for derailing topic.
To get back on topic, I have been pregnant 6 times &, let me tell you, those damn tests are accurate as can be!! Your back hurting has nothing to do with pregnancy & if you are spotting blood chances are that's a sign of not being pregnant also!!

 

i'm scared shitless right now....i had unprotected sex four times this month (please dont call me a slut) i've been through alot of stress this month, including my stepdad hitting me and my cat dying...and just the regular bullshit, but its been tough...and when i drink, which i do heavily at times, i kind of go wild and just do stupid shit (like have sex...with casual friends)
and...my period was supposed to come yesterday...and it hasnt...i've had some cramp-like feelings...my breasts are a little sore...but i dont really feel pms'y....so i'm really scared....i swear, i'd rather die than have a child

guys um... i think the pregnancy test can be used within 5 days.

dont worry to much about the unprotected sex thing because the chanes are low if you onyl did it like once and if youre on the pill then dont worry bout it.

Wost case scenario is that in the year 2050, the Earth's population could reach 10 billion, but there's no way Earth can hold more than that (this is from data supplied by the UN). Being an adoption advocate, I would love it if more couples (fertile or not) would be open to adoption, as there is definately an immediate need for it. But forced sterilizations are a little too Hitleresque for me. Plus, they've already tried limiting the number of kids people have in China, and now they have one of the largest populations of abandonded baby girls. There are so many abandonded babies people are leaving them by the side of the road and in some cases they've actually become almost an export product of China. It's never going to work. And actually, the biggest population booms will occur in the developing world, so your rich white ass would hardly be inconvenienced.

If you are spotting and you have never spotted before, then that is a sign of an irregular period which is a good sign that you are pregnant. My advise to you is that you pay close attention to your body, if you feel more tired, if your breast are sensative or swollen looking, these can all be signs that you are pregnant. Also it is possible (especially during the first month) to still have a period but I think that the stronger pregnancy tests say that you can use it up to a week before your anticipated period.Most importantly DON'T PANIC! I'm sure everything is going to be fine.

 

Yes, worry about unprotected sex. It only takes ONE time to get pregnant. No one said they were on the pill.

You are very insensative and that whole "I got in an accident when I was little" story has been told too amny times usually by the guy with the most KIDS. But if in fact you can't have children then I guess we have GOD to thank for that. Some people just should reproduce.

um people i said dont worry about having unprotected sex once when youre ON THE PILL and you did it ONCE. i didnt say regularly. chances are you did it with your boyfriend that you trust and have been doing it for a while and are pretty certain that it is a monogamous relationship.

 

Nisha, both posters who were concerned about being pregnant stated that they had unprotected sex at least 4 times in the past month. Neither said they were on the pill. I really don't understand why you would be giving this advice that they don't need to worry about, when they clearly do.

but i do think and know you can take a certain pregnancy test within five days of the unprotected sex because the hormone levels or .um.. there is a certain chemical called HGC or something and it'll be present in your blood when you are pregnant.

OK I was supose to have my period like 6 or 7 days ago and nothing!!! I had a pregnancy test 4 days ago at the docs but it said i wasnt....I get cramps the they go away then back again, then gone again...but no period....WTF is going on seriously I have never ever in my life been this late...and I have already spent money on 2 tests...sigh.....can I get cramps when im pregnant...is that normal?

 

I see this is getting lots of bad responses, while i dont agree necisarily that this is the right place for this, I think someone needs to do something, this idea everyone has that its wrong to say people shouldent have so many kids will not look foolish untill were looking back at it from a crowded planet where 50 people are born every second and so almost as many die every second. A world with no places where we can stretch out and breath. It is a horror that we are headed towards, and someone has to do something. For that i agree with him.

 

hey niteowlchick, i know how up in the air you must feel at the moment, your waiting for your period, test says your not pregnant but where is the period, its likely that part of the reason it hasnt appeared(if your not pregnant) is the worry, it is possible that the cramps you are getting are your body trying to come on but the worry and stress are stopping it, it happens, unfortunatly it confuses the situation that sometimes it is a sign of implantation and your body getting used to the pregnancy, happens about a week after conception, which can occur up to a few days after you last had unprotected sex during your fertile time. can feel like a period about to come, i have serious cramping just after i discovered i was pregnant on the day i was due on and was terrified i would lose it but its wriggling in my belly now, lol, so yu can have a perfectly normal pregnancy with cramping at the start. however, measuring the hcg is the only way to know and sometimes it takes a while to build up to a measurable level, most tests are very sensitive however and you should get an accurate result from the day you were due to come on but it may be you concieved late in your cycle and so the levels are not high enough yet. a point to consider, my mother took a positive home test, but was told three tests in a row by a doctor that she wasnt pregnant, and i have a perfectly healthy brother! Best thing to do is try not to worry and think along the lines of what will be will be, theres not much else you can do just yet, sorry, i know thats not much help to you really, but pm me if you want to chat some more. have you got any other symptoms?

 

The spotting sounds like implantation.. But I cant be sure... and yes you can get cramping.. as your uterous is changing... But it should show up on a test on the day your period is due...

Sometimes the power of the mind can play havvock with you and can make your period late due to worrying.. and you can also imagine symptoms...

The fact that its not showing up on a test is a good thing.. so you may just be having a late period.. and the cramping maybe signs of it appearing..

 

If your period runs on a normal cycle...and was due over a week ago..and you've taken numerous pregnancy tests and they all came out negative, then most likely, you're not pregant. Stress can make you late.
