Has anyone out there ever shown preferential treatment to someone just because they were a fellow hippie? I have.

Its not exactly 'hippie' to give someone preferential treatment, but I digress. A

Though, I do know where you are coming from, recognizing a similar attitude in another and feeling closer to that person.

    I'm more a counterculturalist apocalyptic.

I'm very different from all of you. I'm a new breed.

i try to not treat them any differently than i would towards other ppl but i find myself closer to hippies than other ppl, i dont think i treat them any better though, i probably am just alil more open towards them, telling things i wouldnt just tell the everyday person

i don't believe the term "fellow hippie" could be used in my case, as i am not a hippie myself. i certainly don't give special treatment to hippie fellows either; the only people i give preferential treatment to are my friends and attractive women

It wasn't anything more than a discount on a cup of coffee.... Perhaps its not preferential treatment so much as prefering to commune with similiar minded pholks. I'm not one to start conversations with random strangers but I will do so if I see a person wearing a GD shirt etc,,,.. I've met some really cool pholks that way.

    mellowness deserves to be rewarded.
    given the opportunity i will.
doesn't matter about how much or little anyone "looks like a hippie" though.
just what they act like, whoever, whatever, anything else about them.

I prefer the people on here to most of the people in my real life. Does that count?
