If pot gives you panic attacks, it gives them to you when you smpke it, not days later.

THC (the active chemical in pot) can stay in your system for 30 days after you smoke it, while its there its doing 'something' so may help contribute to your panic attacks,...but to attribute your panic attacks just to the THC is probably unlikely.

Sometimes a particular event can initiate a PA so ask yourself is something else going on in your life that may be triggering these attacks? if there is something then try and speak to a counselor/doctor...especially if its anything personal or something you wouldn't want to talk to your Mum about.

I ate some eggs a week ago and my car broke down today, is that why I gotta go take a piss right now? No. Your logic makes no sense. What is the connection between smoking marijuana and the panic attacK, other than you're a smoker who has panic attacks(while sober, mind you).

PS:start writing in full sentences please.

There's no scientific studies to support this that I'm aware of. Have you been to a doctor? You may have a chemical imbalance that requires medical attention. If you're lucky you'll get some Xanax(just kidding....or am i...). Panic attacks and other mental ailments are very commonly blamed on the person's habits and not looked at as a problem itself.

I'm lost...did you say you have to take a drug test because pot might have caused your panic attack?
You already know you smoked, so what willl the test prove that u dont already know??
The only thing it'll do is start a paper trail you don't want (one saying you've tested positive for pot..ugh).

Stop smoking for a few months and you'll know without any doubt if thc in your system is causing it or not.

    Lord..parents and drug tests.

..if you're taking one of those at home tests then I'm just babbling away probably....

Dude, learn how to use periods and other punctuation marks. That was one long fucking sentence!

Anyways, you might have had a latent panic disorder that was finally triggered by smoking weed. Weed and other drugs can sometimes trigger latent mental illnesses, a more commonly cited example being schizophrenia.

Actually, I don't think it is. After a few hours the THC becomes inactivated and is metabolized. What stays in your body are the THC metabolites, not the THC itself. These metabolites are what the drug tests are testing for. And even though they're in the body, they aren't doing anything really (at least not in a mind-influencing way), they only stay because they are fat soluable, so they stay in the fat cells. Since they aren't water soluable molecules, they are slow to dissolve into the bloodstream and thus exit out the body in the urine.

i dont undestand panic attacks. are they jsut emotional things? caus i mean hwo often do you have somehting to panic so much over? i couldnt imagine a panic attack, its not in my nature. i recon if you have irrational panic attacks, your either a weak person or have a psychological problem (the latter of which is a sad thing that can effect anyone. the former.. well i hate it when people have panic attacks even after everyone has proven to them that theres nothing to worry about.)

A panic attack is along the lines of an allergical reaction, you have no control over it and how your body responds. It's very traumatizing, especially the first time when you don't even know what just happened.

I have anxiety attacks all the time. I smoke cannabis everyday all day long.
    The two are not related.
I have panic attacks when something crazy is going on. Or In the hospital waiting room- they always give me panic attacks. Sometimes a highway patrol can give me panic attacks, if he whips around and drives behind me!
When i do have an attack, if I smoke some it helps a lot. Im more likely to have attacks if im out of weed, I'll panick over being out!

cannabis doesnt cause panic attax.......but, it will bring out underlying problems, as it reveals the truth ... for many people it brings out anxiety issues

so many people seem to take their highs lightly and forget the most important part of the use is setting and environment

I would suggest exploring if your feelings regarding those you were around at the time of the attack have changed. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you are unsure of your company or how they are percieving you, that may very well be to blame.
If you have any other questions about panic attacks feel free to ask me, I have been dealing with them for years actually, and I wont try telling you to go on a drug for it.
A good way to deal with one when your having it, is to tell yourself you are okay ( I know it sounds stupid) and you are not in any danger.

Let me just say this, if you are smoking pot and you begin to feel bad physical symptoms, it may be time to find another way to relax.

I occassional awake to a full blown panic attack. As someone said, it's like an allergy.
I don't panic under fire or under survilence, but I'll occassional wake-up, unable to catch my breath, having heart palpatations and sweating buckets. Completely physical reaction. But it's never associated with weed or anything but being asleep.
    -----
I had an anxiety attack after smoking an OZ of hash years ago. there were 5 or 6 of us and it was over several hours of non-stop toking. That's the only time weed ever made me feel uncomfortable- and it was a massive dose.
    ----
On the other hand my sister toked for years, and at about 25 started having attacks whenever she took a few hits. She quit.
A 19 year-old girl I know recently begin having anxiety attacks whenever she takes more than a few hits. She's cut down and seems to be fine.

i beleive that unless a doctor has diagnosed you with a chemical anxiety problem, that your paranoia is all controllable. but this may jsut be an ignorant view form somone who barely gets paranoid. but its largely based on all my observations of people caliming to have panic attacks and stuff.
