Post pics of your herb

So this forum seriously is lacking here. For a bunch of "hippies" very few of you actually impress me with your love for cannabis. I have posted pics several times, and a few have commented, but in large I feel the love for cannabis just isn't here. (I have yet to see anyone else post pics of their nugs.) So for all you cannabis lovers and connoisseurs post a pics of your kind buds (or ugh not so kind if that's what you smoke.)

I picked this up yesterday. This shit is fucking killer for sure. Some of the best smelling stuff I have picked up in a while. It smells like a dead skunk for sure... odd how that is a good smell to some. The name of the strain is unknown, just really good.

I only smoke the kind bud, and get called a weed snob from time to time because I won't hit shitty weed. (What's the point when I have my own good shit?) So lets see some pics of the herd you get around your neck of the woods.

 

Mine's in the ground, and pictures are unavailable due to my uncontrollable paranoia. I got two plants growing next to the house, shielded from all eyes but mine... It was good ass weed I got for 35$/5g, it had three viable seeds, one of the plants died when I tried to transplant it. And it's funny how that skunk smell turns good in your mind over the years. Even when I pass an actual skunk I think 'That shit smells dank!'.

 

me too. The same goes for cat piss. I get really sour smelling herb that almost smells like cat piss. You know it's good when it smells like cat piss.

To be honest, you will be lucky if you see anything from two plants....although you can get lucky. Not saying impossible but the odds and numbers aren't in your favor. I usually start with 30-40 seeds and weed out the weak, and you have to account for 50% to be male by odds. And you will always have some die from the natural order of things. It sucks raising plants from seeds for months then they start growing plant testicles and you have to kill them. All that work down the fucking drain (unless your breading.)

Uh can someone enlighten me, what is the difference between having male or female plants and wouldn't you want to bread your weed?

I remember a long time ago my family found a large-ish weed plant/stalk whatever it is called and my friend and I snatched up as much as we could. We took it home to this local pothead/druggie and he said it wasn't any good because it was male. But we smoked it anyway and it fucked me up better than any other shit they smoked. Some kid smoked it and had a total freak out.

I had just one plant last year, and I got damn near an lb. off that biotch. I think I'm gonna end up with a closet setup this fall, but just for personals, so it won't be all bad if my ladies turn out to be dudes. Plus, there's still some smokables on even the males. Not much, but some. These plants are progressing nicely, topped 'em about three weeks ago. They are about four feet tall now, with two main stems each... Still to early to sex, though. Such a beautiful plant, even just to look at...

 

Females give nothing but buds, with no seed if they aren't pollinated by males. Males have very few buds, with a whole ass load of seeds. But even males have thc, and thc is what makes you have a great day.

 

I believe it to be extremely unwise to speak of such things so openly, the gov/Feds can monitor or even post things like this- dude shady, total foul. I'm sure many have their own respect of the maryjane plant. But Y this post man.. Dude chill

I have mad respect for the Spirit of the Marijuana plant. I'm learning about plant spirits and have chosen to no longer partake in smoking or eating anything without it being for the right purpose.

I once smoked heavily for fun, and still know plenty who do- but I've never known it to be cool to call it out- it's like asking for trouble. (or maybe I'm just getting old & paranoid) dude you gotta be smarter man, be cool about it.

Glad you asked... You couldn't have asked a better person at that.

Cannabis is one of the only plants to have grow male and female plants. Most are hermaphrodite or A-sexual. In fact through genetics or bad growing conditions you can even get a-sexual cannabis plants.

You want to breed two different strains of weed to cross the genetics or take traits from one and pass along to another to improve your yield. Growing multiple generations with new seed each year will result in better buds (if done right) because it will get more acclimated to the climate and regional temperatures. More bang for you buck...

Here is a male plant. These are the pollen sacks or plant testicles. They will burst open to pollinate the pistils or commonly known as hairs on the buds of the females.



Here is a female plant just starting to show sex. These are the "hairs" I was talking about. For every 'hair' that gets a grain of pollen on it will produce a seed which takes away from the potency of the plant. They waste nutrients producing the seeds rather than the crystals which is what you want. That's why you pick the males, unless your breeding which you are growing for seeds at this point. A female can still produce seeds without being pollinated too. Just because you pic the males doesn't guarantee seedless buds.


And a hermaphrodite plant. You can't really tell but by looking at and referencing it to memory, I can definitely tell it was a hermie.

So the guy who said the male plants were useless in getting high was lying, he actually told me to give me all the bud I picked and he will "mix" it with the female plant. But I gave him like two plant stalk things and said that was all I had, which was a lie. I knew he was pulling my leg.

 

Whatever... I am not actively growing nor do they have my address. This IP address isn't linked to me personally. I don't pay the bill. It's not in my name AND i don't grow where I. And if it was, I am aloud to post pics and talk about whatever I want legally. Anything incriminating me to those photos? Who say's they are mine? I could be some dude on a ego trip trying to look cool posting pics about weed...

2nd) there are TONS of website dedicated to cultivation of ethnogeons that would be targeted before me. It was all sarcasm about getting me first. When the feds come knocking on my door because of a couple pics on a dreadlock forum, I'll be sure to notify the press because they sure have more important shit do. It's not like I am selling or anything or even talking about it. I am not posting pics of fields...we are talking like 5 or 6 plants. Plus, who's to say I don't grow these in a state where it's legal to grow under state law. Ever heard of High Times? lol

I kinda take offense to the whole looking cool and 'i know your younger than me' bit. You're like a year older than me. I love to grow. It's an art form and a science. I am not calling it out. Just trying to talk to other people about it a safe place known as the internet.

I dig where you're coming from, but I'm sure the man will set that up on folks in the weed forums, the grow forums, etc... And Greta, that's some funny shit. Even stoners can try a reach around every once in awhile...

 

Nice luck bro. I am not saying you can't get weight. Just the luck of the draw doesn't always work to your favor. Several times I have grown a few and ended up with nothing because they were all male. I just start out with a bunch and end up with 2-3 really nice ones that will guarantee yields. But mad props on the harvest.
