Okay, so just after inoculation you put the jars in a dark place for around 3 weeks to colonize at about 80F.

Just to be sure I have 3 questions in regards to that 3 week or so colonization period:

    1) Do you ever need to expose them to any kind of CFL light or sunlight?

    2) Is there a need to keep the humidity at a certain level during that time?

    3) If you have them in a closet should you open it up every day to allow fresh air in?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

    1. no, only during fruiting, never use direct sunlight
    2. No, there should be enough moisture in the jars.
    3. Not necessarily, but 2/3rds done you may want to remove whatever is covering your holes and securely place a couple coffee filters over the lids, also you can turn them upside down. This helps with gas exchange, Co2
