Anybody in this forum enjoy this? Im looking for some recipes, as i have half of my pods left. I usually just use anice, sugar, lime and lemon juice, grapefruit juice, and lemon tea bags. And it tastes ok, but im looking for something different. Also, would anyone happen to know a good method for making tea with just stems? Becuase I have 50 of em lying around, and I use about 32 cups of water per 25 pods. They are the giant ones
i've made poppy tea several times. first two times were great, with freshly purchased and barely dried pods from a flower stand in seattle....almost overdosed the first time (but yeah, i didn't care cause at the same time it felt great...) the other times i've had mixed results. never anything terrific...some mild buzzes once or twice. sometimes nothing. but i always throw up, if from nothing else than from the taste. i unfortunately can't say i've got a good recipe. the best thing i found is to use cola as a chaser. i usually just used lemon juice and a bunch of sugar in with it. i tried cooking down the tea to a paste. put it in an oven on low, low heat till most of the water evaporated, then dried it off the rest of the way with a fan. if i ate a big lump or two of it i'd get a buzz, but it didn't seem to be very smokable...the pods were already mediocre though, and i think the oven may have vaporized and wasted too many of the opiates. so yeah, done it with mixed results, but have no good advice for you. personally i think i'd rather just take a couple pills....if i had the space for it, though, i'd want to grow my own poppy garden and supply myself with a small stash of raw, smokable opium (harvested the "right" way, not tea) i try to stay away from all that stuff, though. i've got too addictive a personality for it.
Me too, I dont do it often. Weird though, I've never thrown up from it, I have gotten really bad stomach pains, but that's it. The pods I use always come really big and really potent, so I dont know every time I do it it's heaven. I like the pills, but the mood and the duration of the tea is much better in my opinion. i just ground up the pods really really fine and pour in some juice and let it sit a minute and then drink the grounds and everything. for me this works best. when i have tried straining it i noticed more stomach upset - but then my stomach is weird and i never had stomach upset from H - but drinking the plain tea gave it to me. also it takes more pods to make the tea - but i have read and am pretty sure that if you eat the grounds you get more out of the pods and probably it gives you a worse w/d because of all the other alkoloids... djh
i would not reccomend trying this. your stomach just might beat you up with furious vengence.....especially if your watching johnny depp's slow and painful death scene in DeAdMaN.......
