I'm looking to purchase some poppy pods online for tea. What specifics should I look for? I"ve read that Turkish Pods will work and Papaver Somniferum. Is this correct?
Papaver Somniferum is the subspecies of the poppy that contains opium, so any Papaver Somniferum pods will work, the yield is generally based on the size, so a larger poppy will have a larger yield but I don't find that any specific strain of Papaver Somniferum is better at producing opium than others(you may get more persian white pods but they will be smaller, or you could get a few large H/Cs), and the tea is just nasty lol, once you're at tea level just slowly evapourate the water off the tea and eat the gum thats left, this way you only have to do it once and can store the gum and take some when you want to
