popcorn was one of the last old time bootleggers around these parts. a couple years ago they busted him with 800 gallons of shine.

long story short,the case went federal,he was convicted,sentenced to 18 months and right before he was due to go to prison he committed suicide.


its far more colorful than that though. somewhere between conviction and sentencing johnny knoxville interviewed him..

I tried to get the still, but it went to one of my cousins instead.

 

they still folks do it on a small scale here.that, brandy and weed. he was one of the last big time bootleggers.they wont never do away with it totally here. for a lotta folks its a way of life.

 

Yet another waste of federal funds. Ok for bullshit law sake I could see taking away his booze, gun ect. I could see putting him on probation or something but hell put a skinny old harmless OLD man in prison for that is just another example of stupidity.

I watched the interview. There are are plenty of 'law abiding' citizens that deserve to go to jail more than that man did.
