Pop or Soda?

Or soda pop? Or coke?

There are so many things you can call that carbonated beverage (I don't drink it, but I can talk about it)...What region are you from and what do you call it?

I know a kid from Texas who called all soda (which I call it, even though in MIchigan they call it pop) coke. ALL soda was coke to him.

I thought tonic was just, like, carbonated water?

 

not in mass...

it was still used in the grocery stores before all the national chains took over...

theres still some mom and pop places that still use tonic - its nice to see

 

apparently so did the bartender where I was at tonight.

My beverage of choice when I'm out at the bars is a Kettle One and Tonic. I ordered one tonight and got a Kettle One and Soda - big difference.

 

Well, what is tonic, exactly, then?

I almost never refer to soda unless I'm talking about a specific one. Generally I'd use soda though.
