Thank you. What a nasty guy. I'm glad they caught him. Not as much for the polygamy, mostly, but for the way he treated girls.

 

Yea, who knows how much harm he has REALLY done to these people.

 

A lot, I would guess. A lot of girls raised in a culture like that have absolutely no say in how their lives run. It's sad. They are often physically threatened if they try to leave. Sad. He was supposed to, at least at one time, have quite an arsenal. I wonder if they found it.

 

I think I saw something on CNN awhile back about how it wasnt just the underage girls being abused, if ya know what I mean, so the dude is all kinds of fucked up

 

Yeah, polygamy has social stigmas, but in reality all polygamy I've heard about in the US are among old men and very young girls (12!) in arranged forced marriages.

And the girls were not allowed to leave. I don't think it was under penalty of death, but they had a show on Fox where they showed two girls who escaped.

They wouldn't say where they were because according to the reporter their lives were in danger.
