i am tired of being politically ignorant. most of my friends are liberal, but i get along well with the conservatives as well. To stand out from the flock, i deny that im liberal and claim to be a libertarian. But I dont know how this concept plays out in the real world. it sounds great in theory, but will uncontrolled capitalism really be for the best? the idea seems to be that people are responsible for their decisions and if you do not want to buy something or work for someone, you dont have to. but is this really the case? can the average joe really resist corporate abuses? if you are innundated from birth by advertisements can you really know that you are being brainwashed and resist the temptation to purchase? i think that socially it might work, but economic libertarianism is impossible and would be disastrous to attempt. greed will interfere with the social tenets of libertarianism - you may put yourself in danger but no others - and it will fail.
