Can't disagree with the circumstances statement, but really ... Politics suck. I mean that with everything in me. I like fishing though. I like to grill food and a beer on occasion taste pretty good. I like cheese cake and nice glass of cold milk sometimes too. Clean waters great! Circumstances ... Yup!

On the other hand, do we want a crime boss who spends his time dividing the country, promoting corruption, and trying to grab more power? Some people do. The Godfather series had lots of fans (like Saddam Hussein) who identified vicariously with the Don. Like those poor slobs taken in by Trump U., you've apparently fallen for the image projected by the Grifter-in-Chief--the billionaire who took a measly million dollars given him by his crooked father and promoted it into untold billions (untold cuz nobody can see his tax returns). Because he likes to grab pussies, have extramarital sex with strippers, and cuss like a trooper, he's "one of the guys". You apparently think that because he so blatantly displays his dark side and gets away with it, this is somebody you can identify with. Yeah, we all have our dark sides, but I don't think we're all world class crooks and con men.

I don't think Trump is necessarily a racist himself, but he uses race to divide us--which is worse. Notoriously, he used the birther conspiracy lie to start his political career and launched his presidential campaign denouncing undocumented Mexicans as "rapists", and he refused to condemn white supremacists who campaigned for him. He attacked Muslim gold star parents and an Hispanic judge using ethnic stereotypes. He condoned the beating of a black protestor at one of his rallies. Long before his political career, he stirred up mob sentiment against the Central Park Five with a full page ad, contributing to their wrongful conviction. He claimed that Pequot Indians who were competing with one of his casinos weren't really Indian. Most recently, he referred to non-white countries as "shithole" countries, and told four members of Congress of color (three born in the U.S.) to "go back" to their own countries. It's easy to dismiss inconvenient truths as "propaganda", but it won't get rid of them.

Politics is something we may think we can't live with, but we can't live without it either. You like fish, a nice glass of cold milk, and clean water, but the people you vote for are willing to sacrifice all of those by relaxing environmental laws.

Sound like you've been out of touch for awhile. Reagan set the trend for borrow and spend Republicans. As candidate, Trump promised to get rid of our national debt in eight years, but after he took office it rose from !9 trillion to 21.7 trillion, with an additional $1 trillion in IOUs as a result of the tax cut for corporations and rich folks. As for our isolating ourselves from the rest of the world and risking a world against us, Trump seems to be doing a good job of that, by acting like a bull in a China shop at NATO and G8 summit meetings, cozying up to dictators like Putin, pushing trade wars, and catering to the isolationists in his base.

Crime boss? If you're implying I want a crime boss in office you may want to look at history and maybe instead ask if we should change the status quo. I mean has there ever not been? I like honesty, truth, an open human side, and someone who can relate to people who make up the masses, not just the 1% ers, which at one time were 2%ers.

I'm poor, below poverty level. I haven't always been this way. Ground level is an entirely different world than even the 60% ers have seen. I liked Clinton because he was very umm good with people ground level, his human side fairly well exposed, and his wife ... Her whole village thing ... Well it inspired me. Why? Because it's true. They're good at what they fit, but don't expect me to give up tobacco. In already in too deep for that.

I love politics. They still suck though.

To the contrary, if we look at history we've had plenty of honest statesmen who put country above crass personal and partisan interests. There have been a few rotten apples, but nothing like Trump. Trump is certainly a 0.1 percenter--don't let his crude demeanor fool you. He was born with a platinum spoon in his mouth, and doesn't give a shit about the people who make up the masses.

What does Trump have to do with it? I switched parties, would have voted for but didn't, championed the Clinton's and stated how I campained for Obama. What does Trump have to do with it aside from I liked his politically incorrect approach?

Okay, my deepest apologies, all is forgiven. I misunderstood what you were trying to say. Personally, I didn't particularly like Clinton but thought Trump would be exactly the disaster he turned out to be.

I would have voted Trump if able. Am I still forgiven? You know, money issues suck. I know how to make a lot of money too. The economy sucks and I can't make the money I know I can make because???? Ohh, business is business and yeah so shit can get personal sometimes, feelings get hurt and we can blisters on our feet. So yeah, people die sometimes, and others get hurt, and why? U don't know ... Maybe someone didn't like it when he said shit, or ass, or damn or something. Thin ice, egg shell mentalities, and we're freaking fed up with the bullshit! But yeah politics suck when I say suck I mean politics suck! . Yeah, all fun and games right? Right!

Politics is a mugs game where people treat politics like it's this imaginary force field shield that's meant to protect and look after them. They vote for a party or someone into power and they expect that this person is going to make my life better and protect me from financial instability and a lot of other insecurities but it's all bullshit, because those type of people rely on politics and governments for those exact reasons and lol no government gonna pick you up and pat your back and tell you everything's alright if you lose your job or something. That's nonsense, just a vision. I'm really glad I picked up all this at an early age it frees my life, time and commitments to my own life where I just do the best I can and what I enjoy without having to have an expectation for a government body to pull me through that same life.

The more I experience and the more people I get to meet through life only one thing has stood out, that those people just like me who turn their backs on the bullshit are living much happier and free lives in comparison to those that cling to political mumbo jumbos. As far as I can tell that's just a fact. You gotta get up and go through all the bullshit and you have to go through change and whether you want to or not doesn't really matter.

But once you can grasp the concept that YOU have to fight for what you want the best way you can then you'll be free because waiting on a fictitious ploy from politics is a fairytale dream and they literally have you exactly where they want you at that point. See governments don't like free people, they want you eating out of their hands like the majority do, clinging on every detail, having you hope for a better future.

Dont hope for a better life or future, folks. Make it.

No. Apology rescinded. You said what I thought you said. As Aristotle put it, humans are "political animals": from parent-child, to husband-wife, date-to-date, to employer-employee, to pastor-congregation, to local, state and national government operations. Politics is about who gets what, when and how by means of power and authority. Reality bites and politics may suck, but we need to deal with it.

Great post, and spot in thoughts ... For the most part. It's like, not a magical kind of thing is it? They do what they can to prevent unheaval, then other times they do what they can to create it. The powers that be need a way to umm ... Keep people in check ... So to speak.

It's all about power and and not allowing those who can rise and overcome and do it better, so held down we become, in chains, and sometimes we get gone. Gone gone I mean ... No return kind of gone gone like lennon, king, and other would be world changers. This nation, as great as it can be would be and should and still could be if we the people took a stand, but then that's how families are turn apart, how people get gone gone and how civil unrest and violence begins. So, what do we do? Exactly what you suggested. Get out the political arena, find some happiness and do your best to make it great where we are, wherever we might be. Jobs? That's playing with the beast and not the good one. Then again, money is needed and most of us have done our fair share of playing that game.

I like being an able body, but what happens after in not? I can't do full time work, but I can make things and invent things and create really big networks and whatnot. What I can't do is win against what's holding me down. I need some r & r but those times are truly few and far between.

But yeah, maybe I should just do what I do only find a way to do it better. You know, get by on less, be more comfortable on less, and be happy despite the bullshit hold us downers because we're viewed as a threat to status quo and the power trips.

Don't we kind of like have politicians so we don't have to concern ourselves in depth with what they have to concern themselves with for a living? We can turn our back to politics and live much happier lives because some others concern themselves with it.
And if enough folks concern themselves to such a degree with it that they vote on someone that represents them or what they find important, some politicians might not even turn out to be that bad either :p
