I took it up in June, prior to this I was basically someone who never exercised, had no muscle tone or strength. I didn't realise how hard pole is until I took it up! You need to have the strongest arms and core, and even then it's HARD work. I now have really strong arms that are getting more toned all the time. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new fitness hobby. BTW I'm still not sexy at all when I do pole - I imagine you would need arms and a core of steel to be able to do the moves sexily, lol.
Good for you and I am glad to read it is going so well. I have never tried doing that but did do belly dancing with a friend. I can still remember the sore muscles, even though I do yoga all the time.
My lil sister does Pole just for fitness and she has transformed her body and it's amazing. She was always a little petite chick as it was, but now she has muscle definition and tone and her abs man... But it's the good sort of definition where she still looks very feminism, but when she wants to reveal the muscles she can flex and there they are.
I wanted to take it up. That or belly dancing. As well as swimming (I don't know how to swim) or ninjutsu. The reason why I was interested in those two specific dancing techniques was because I was considering exercising, but I told myself I want to learn something too. I backed out of doing everything because it was just too much money.
