    Do you ever get it?

It appears to have climbed up on me. We camped this weekend in the rain with some very good friends of ours. Our children played together and the dogs were excellent. Overall our time was awesome.

The camp site was right in the circle of poison ivy. Everyone had some contact with it, especially the dogs. Tonight I gave a very smelly wet dog a bath then I had more spots appear. Bill's ankels are bothering him. My neck and eyes also itch.

Are you an outside person? Do you have a lot of contact with poison ivy?

I used to get it extremely bad when I was a kid about once a summer - like needing to get steroids from the doctor to make it go away. I haven't had it in about 15 years though, so perhaps I've built up a tolerance

): I'm sorry I hope you feel better.
We have poisin oak out here and I got it all over and in my throat one year ): I am just prone to weird skin things. Does poisin ivy itch like poisin oak?

yea, poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac are pretty similar in the reactions on your body - the itching, rashes, bumps...

We put some Zanfel on it. New spots are appearing so I'm trying to keep up with the itches. I've had it before, many times. When I was 7 months pregnant with my second son I got it for the first time. It was all over my belly, arms, legs. We were burning it. I know it was STUPID!!! Bill was able to take the steriods to help him but I couldn't take anything. I was so miserable.

I'm pretty sure wet poison is just as potent as burned poison. At least dogs don't react to it. I think she even ate it a couple times.

Ahhh, used to get it like mad when I was a kid. Eyes would swell up like golfballs.
If you know you've come in contact with it run cold water over the area fast as you can, after use mild soap, rinse again. I've managed to miss getting those itchy blisters a few times doing that.

I never used to get it, I could run naked through it if I wanted to and be completely poison ivy free. But then one time I fell off my bike, got a cut on my leg and ever since I get the worst poison ivy :(
I love being outside too so it's a pain in the ass.

I have it right now too. All around my fingers, the side of my head, and the corner of my mouth. My sister gave it to me.
When my mom gets it she has to take 3 different pills: one to dry it up, one to keep it from spreading, and one to make it not itch.
When she was 8 or 9 she told one of my mom’s friends she wasn't allergic to it and she rubbed a leaf all over her face. He told her that she probably was allergic to it because my mom and I had it simultaneously at the time. The next day she had a rash all over her face and she wouldn’t talk to us because she was embarrassed. It was very funny.

Apparently I'm not allergic to poison oak -
haven't a clue why since I am to virtually every other thing.
Seems I was mowing bunches of it for the better part of a summer.

    Wondering about poison ivy?
Don't think I've ever been around any.

It also appears those plants don't grow along the coast - salt kill'em?

I come into contact with it, doesn't really do much to me. Another thing around here, are stinging nettles. They seem to be the state plant. I actually use stinging nettle for medicinal purposes. A lot of time, in places where there are stinging nettles and posion ivy and such, there is a semi-low growing, broadleaf plant that I call all-heal. I am not sure of the real name, it might be sour doc, but you can break the stem open and rub the juices on the infected area and it will take the itch away.

Today I woke up and my upper lip looks like I had injections. It wouldn't be so bad but the burning is annoying. My nose was a bit crooked before the poison. Now the swelling makes it look even. My left arm is covered. My legs have spots all over them. My right eye stopped swelling. YIPPIE!!!!

    I've taken benedry, zanfel, naporsyn.

I look like a circus freak.
